I left for work at 3:30 this afternoon and it was quite obvious at that point that the widget was going to crack 500k by midnight but I never saw another 170k coming in like 9 hours. HOLY SHIT BATMAN!! What happened?

I hope there's more! I'm hoping for at least 150K in the next 24 hours.. that leaves 100K to be raised on Saturday and Sunday. It's a tough goal, but doable!

People need to give and keep giving!

We must hit one million dollars!

As it was about to hit the 500k mark it started exploding! For the next 15 minutes it was going up at least $1,000 every minute :D

Everyone wanted to be the one to break 500K. Like a dam bursting.

we've been working it baby :D

RE: Aloha, great name
Body: oh yeah, definitely! I don't get paid until tomorrow and that's the day I'm going to donate some more money! Ron Paul for Pres! I'm actually starting to see his bumper stickers pop up so I'm really excited!

Hey,
Thanks for the message. I'm sure all of us were talking a lot about Ron Paul a few months ago, but talk has been light lately and we got to keep the momentum going. Because of your message, I just donated $25 to Ron Paul. We need to keep pushing the message. The more the public hears the name Ron Paul, the more the public will vote!

Regards,
Branden

If we have been going at this pace all Q3...how can it not be a great amount of money?

I don't think myspace has ever been tapped like it's being tapped right now

We haven't been going at this pace all quarter unfortunately. Get this, the average amount of donations for the last 4 days is 1750/day or so. That's fill the quill every single day, and even fill the quill was about 2x faster than normal. My calculations show us clipping over 5x the quarterly average.

I think when the dust settles on September, the RP campaign will have raised as much in Sept. as they did in all of Q2. That's pretty damn good for not spending a dime on mainstream advertising.

I think it's going to be much higher. If we're looking at a million this week and I know just a couple of weeks ago that they did over half a million. That's 1.5 million in two weeks of the quarter. I know that this site and meetups have had massive donation drives over the quarter. I would be shocked it if were under 5 million.

I think 5 million is a good number, with half of that raised in September.

Remember though - those don't include Paypal donations or donations received through other means (snailmail)

A lot of Myspace people were waking up and saw the messages that we all sent out.

Don't forget that Monday the 1st of October is military payday. If any service members have been following this, expect a huge surge that day too. That would be a good way to start off the 4th quarter.

It would include paypal, but not snailmail. See my chart from a few days ago, and scale it up a bit for what is likely higher than normal donation averages for the meetup competition and for the west coast tour with all those big ballers out west. (of course this chart is a bit old)

Well, if that's anywhere near correct, I think we can safely say (I forgot about the meetup competition) that 5 million isn't a stretch.

I think 5 mil is too high an estimate.

I am thinking more like 3.5.

I actually think I'm lowballing at 5 mil. I can't WAIT to see the REAL numbers and I hope this time the military numbers absolutely blow away the media. The last time they mentioned it but kind of snickered because the amount wasn't very high. I'm hoping for MUCH more this time.
