Surely a U.S. Senator knows the ins-and-outs.

Perhaps we should ask him what the 17th amendment states. At least it would be ironic if he got it wrong. :)

If he was well versed on the Constitution, why was he reading it last Thursday morning? As a Senator he should be able to recite the whole thing word for word.
