I was just curious about the list of companies that have attended Bilderberg meetings in the past?

I'm primarily focused on those companies that produce the products we consume and use? I've heard Pepsi-Cola upper management has attended these meetings?

"Hot Topic" or not I find that incredibly disturbing. If these meetings were publicized like the world economic forum then I wouldn't care...but the secrecy in who attends is strange...

LoL, Monsanto probably creates 99% of what you find in your grocery stores and restaurants...and I wouldn't be surprised if they have an entourage of 10 or 20 people and they probably even sponsor everybody's trip to fly out to those meetings..

Best thing to do is buy fresh food from local farms.

Speaking of which, I have today off and we have a *real* local farmer's market here that's open every Wednesday from 3-6. The stuff I get there tastes like the food I ate when I was a kid--I love it!

Last week I bought a zucchini that was almost as long as my arm for $1. I made it into a version of moussaka that turned out fantastically.

P.S. Sorry about the hijack, OP.

OP: The Future of Food is a great documentary about Monsanto and their GMO quest.

Ya I'm pretty lucky, they recently moved one of our local farmer's markets over to my side of town. I can walk there now.. though I still usually hit it up on my way back from work. But it's also TODAY! And from 3-6...freaky..

Weird. I'm walking to mine as well--it's 3 miles each way, and it's a lovely day for a walk. I'm hoping they have red raspberries.

Sometimes I think Penn & Teller are on our side but this reminds me of the "Bullshit!" episode on how GMO is perfectly fine and okay to eat.

EDIT: I was digging more into Monsanto and came across this...

I hear that the head of the Bilda Burger fast-food chain attends the meetings....

Right because it's perfectly okay that natural cane sugar has been replaced by high fructose corn syrup in practically everything we eat.

It's okay. Drink your mercury milk shake and go back to sleep. Enjoy your Alzheimer's.

I will. I'll enjoy my better tasting food, produced more efficiently, at less cost to both me and the producer, as I will enjoy every superior good and service that is produced more efficiently by better technology and more capital-intensive production processes. Enjoy your Luddism.

Capital-intensive in agriculture is going to drive you off of a cliff. Wait till oil hits $200 a barrel, see how much your california grown tomato costs then.

I'm pretty sure I don't spend this much extra in organic food costs per month as what you'll need to spend on someday to slow the progression of what all that mercury will do to you. And those are today's prices. Imagine the costs when you'll actually need them.
