Syndicated columnist, journalist and conservative political commentator Robert Novak died today at his home in Washington. Reports indicate that he died of a brain tumor diagnosed in July 2008. Novak was 78.
A registered Democrat, Novak supported the Democratic presidential candidacies of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, of whom he was a friend. But in his later years, he leaned toward libertarian views and supported Ron Paul for president.
