Here's an older video from the JBS about Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich is often viewed as a conservative politician. This video is a speech John McManus, president of the John Birch society gave in 1996 which exposes the REAL Newt Gingrich by examining his track record.

Well if Newt cut a "global warming" commercial with Nancy Pelosi....

I seriously need to get a few hundred of these to pass out at the next "tea party".

I disagree with what this guy says about the "contract with america". The "contract with america" accomplished alot of good things like Welfare reform, and a budget surplus.

However , Newt undoubtedly does some really shady things , and all his compromising with big government types lately doesn't do anything to to strengthen my confidence in him.

I don't trust him....

budget surplus was due to exploding tax revenues from expanding economy....not to any spending cuts

What??? The Welfare Reform Act of 1996 did the most destruction to our privacy rights and liberty than any other piece of legislation in American history. Do not be fooled by the word "Welfare" this legislation effected all working Americans.

http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cse/newhire/employer/private/newhire.htm
"New hire reporting is the process by which you, as an employer, report information on your newly hired employees to a designated state agency shortly after the date of hire."

It has been over 10 years since this was setup and has allowed the federal government to track most working Americans. This is just scratching the surface of legislation that was enacted by the Welfare Reform Act. Do not be fooled by Newt Gingrich conservative speak and the media hailing the "Contract with America". The man is a fraud and his actions demonstrate support and action of intrusive big government spending programs.

Someone needs to fight this guy. His rhetoric is just a right-wing version of Obama. Big government. I fell for it for a bit, and the only counter argument the Left offered was his wife-count.

Need to defeat Gingrich 2012.

The contract with America was decent. It wasn't really pro-freedom or anything, though. However, since then Newt moved far away from freedom issues. He is very much against freedom and pushes against freedom in most of his political actions.

I think the stated goals of the Contract with America were good (found here: http://www.house.gov/house/Contract/CONTRACT.html ). But the actual goal and the stated goals were two different things. The actual goal was to get Republicans elected by falsely convincing Americans they stood for smaller government in contrast to the Democrats.

Once that actual goal was realized the pretend goals became irrelevant, and went on to be ignored or implemented in such hypocritical ways as to have left us positively worse off than we were before the 1994 election.

Newt never had any intention of following through on the CWA in any sincere way, since he loves big government and would never do anything to reduce the power he wields by being a part of it. The only way he ever garnered a reputation of being conservative was by being good at playing the role of the opposition back before 1994, when Republicans were in the minority. Once they were in the majority, the truth emerged again. This is a good thing to remember before people give current Republicans in office too much credit for their opposition to Obama. There are only 17 congressman and 0 senators who voted against all bailouts, including Bush's, and the new darlings of the pseudo-right (Cantor, Ryan, Bachman, Pence, etc.) aren't on the list. The ones who are on the list are all anti-establishment Republicans who have to fight their own party each election to stay in office and whom pseudo-conservative groups like the Club for Growth would never endorse (and sometimes they even tacitly support their opposition), on the grounds that they're too constitutional.

But if somebody likes Marco Rubio, they'll like Gingrich too.

Thanks, Frank. I was needing something like this. Gingrich is a snake in the grass and I think he's going to be a major pain in our sides, in the next elections. I personally want to be armed with all the facts that I can, to hopefully make people open up their eyes to what he's really all about.
