What do you think are some things that teach important things about politics?
I know I personally would be interested to have some things like documentaries, books, websites, etc., whatever named to look at to learn about different parts of how our government should work. I would also like your opinions on this because I'm building up my friends list on myspace so I could use some good sources of information to post for people to read.
And don't think it can be too simple either, a personal friend of mine didn't even know if the state we live in voted republican or democrat, and which of the two parties were "better," whatever he meant by that, I'm guessing which to vote for.
I think Freedom to Fascism is a great documentary, but its looooong and most people won't watch all of it, plus it gets into implantable tracking chips at the very end which will make some people reject the entire video as conspiracy theory non-sense, so I don't like to post it really that much.
So what do you think are good sources to go to for learning about stuff like the following, or anything else important I might forget to mention:
Taxes
Foreign Policy (or specifically Iraq and/or Afghanistan)
Abortion
Border Security
The Federal Reserve and/or monetary policy
Healthcare
Global warming
Gun control/ Gun rights
Basics of the government, like how the branches work etc..
The war on drugs
Principles of economics; explanations of why free markets work not gov.
Documentaries are ok, but I think other things are more effective because most people just don't want to spend two to four hours watching a documentary about politics, sadly. I think stuff like short videos and articles are much better because more people will take a look at it.
And you can take this opportunity to educate me as well lol. Afterall, I only woke up once Ron Paul ran for president, so I know there is still a lot I could learn even though I'm constantly reading. Before that I thought politics was a good bit corrupt, pointless, and could have cared less about it, but Dr. Paul cured my apathy as they say lol.
