I love bragging on this whenever the topic comes up.

Smedley Butler is my great uncle.

Thats interesting...you wouldn't happen to have an extra copy of war is racket laying around would you?

I am assuming you never got to meet him since he passed away in 1940. yu got any interesting family stories? His father was also a congressman correct?

It's an interesting part of history that's nearly unknown to most people - I only knew about it because of this bbc broadcast. History Channel has covered it too but i haven't watched it yet:

We're in a very similar situation today, but this time they have their own boy in the Whitehouse. FDR didn't go along with the Globalist's plans, screwing up all their post WWII plans.

No, never got to meet him, although my grandfather had many stories.

I'm working on compiling some personal letters and such that are scattered about the family.

I have a signed copy of "War is Racket" not signed to me of course, in fact, who it was made out to is not legible.

It's not extra, nor for sale.;)

But it's available online for free.

I know, I have a copy downloaded. i just hate reading e-books. I much prefer having the real thing...

Wow! That's really interesting.

General Butler is arguably one of the most important (and unfortunately least known) figures in 20th Century American history. You definitely have some family bragging rights!

P.S. - Any thought about writing a biography? If you have access to family papers and history, you would be in a unique position to write a bio... and there are pitifully few biographies of General Butler at present.
