What good do the dems see in a bill with no public option?

Obama would rather lose reelection than not pass healthcare:

Personally, I'm a whole lot more comfortable with a "reform" plan that replaces public option with private co-ops and that drops the so-called death panels completely.

I'm currently uninsured (though, thankfully, not uninsurable) but I'd rather have nothing than socialized healthcare.

Sure, but the gov't is already neck-deep into all those things and shows no indication of wanting to get out - quite the opposite.

Given that we are most likely going to have something forced upon us, I'm just saying I can deal with the co-op idea a whole lot better than I can deal with the other.

If it's true that they are backing off of this for now, fantastic. In fact, keep pressuring Congress until we're certain that this isn't going through.
