WWE CEO Linda McMahon is seriously considering a run for US Senate next fall according to The Washington Post.

Flush with money from the success of WWE over the years, McMahon is said to be willing to spend significant amounts of her wealth on her candidacy.

The pile of cash will likely be needed as she fights off the stigma of professional wrestling and the violence in WWE, which has been greatly toned down as of late.

But stigma is a very difficult thing to fight.

McMahon, who currently sits on the Connecticut Board of Education, would run on the Republican ticket.

She would honestly not be a horrible pick from what I know of her but I would still prefer Schiff because I believe the McMahons are on the neocon side when it comes to foreign policy but fiscally I think she would be quite impressive.

uhhh this would conflict with peter schiff

but then again... depending on her policies, maybe she would take away from the establishment figures?

We should convince Glenn Jacobs to beat the shit out of her.

Lol. If they like that semi-liberal Ventura and they go weak-kneed over Kane, then who can we get from the WWE who will happily be our puppet for money? Hmmm...

When in doubt, go for the CEO!

I know nothing about her but what is in the short article in the OP. That she sits on the state board of education doesn't bode well for her small government credentials, IMO.

Celebrity vs. substance.

She plans to run against Schiff..

seems to be the case. both are from CT. They would have to battle it out in the primary I suppose

Eh she's hardly a celebrity

If Connecticut voters love wrestling that much, we can fly Kane and Val Venis down to support Schiff
Although Vince would probably fire them..

i smell a rat!

McMahaon will split the anti Establishment GOP vote between her and Schiff so that Simmons wins !!!

Same thing is gonna happen in 2012 when that duechbag Palin runs third party.

My first post in this thread was sarcastic by the way.

But I think because of the whole Chris Benoit incident, the WWE has gotten a really bad reputation.

I have a feeling she isn't going to be anti-establishment. If this is the case-- then it could only help Schiff. Infact it would be cool if Schiff influences her.

I don't see this as a threat to Schiff at all.

It depends on how much she is willing to spend

I think the WWE's image is too bad for her to make any traction. Think of the steroid scandals, the Benoit scandal, the violence, and the raunchiness. I just don't see it.

What are you getting at? Linda McMahon is rich as hell but she'll spend money to be elected, not make money.

I still stand by the opinion that Dodd will choose to retire before the end of the democrat primary. There is blood in the water, the sharks are circling and I think this will turn into a bunning type situation where the DNC convinces him to step aside.

I don't know - he's been front and center at a lot of Obama press conferences.

Doesn't seem like democratic leadership in DC is against him yet. We'll see.
