Well, we're seeing the breakdown of the Democratic process and the loss of confidence in our system of government. I think this Town Hall participant said it well:

"The crowd erupted into thunderous applause and a standing ovation in response to a woman who said: 'Your government has lost the faith and trust of the American people.'"

Well, there is evidence that this break down is deliberate. Please read the following quote from the Club of Rome's First Global Revolution (http://www.green-agenda.com/globalrevolution.html), published in 1991. From Chapter V....

...democracy will be made to seem responsible for the lagging economy, the scarcity and uncertainties. The very concept of democracy could then be brought into question and allow for the seizure of power by extremists of one brand or the other.

and here's more...

"democracy is no longer well suited for the tasks ahead.

The complexity and the technical nature of many of today's problems do not always allow elected representatives to make competent decisions at the right time. Few politicians in office are sufficiently aware of the global nature of the problems in front of them and have little if any awareness of the interactions between the problems. Generally speaking, informed discussion on the main political, economic and social issues takes place on radio and television, rather than in Parliament, to the detriment of the latter. Political party activities are so intensely focused on election deadlines and party rivalries that they end up weakening the democracy they're supposed to serve. This confrontational approach gives an impression that party needs come before national interests. Strategies and tactics seem more important than objectives, and often a constituency is neglected as soon as it is conquered. The current mode of operation in western democracies are seeing their former role decline and public opinion drifting away from elected representatives. However, the crisis in the contemporary democratic system must not be allowed to serve as an excuse for rejecting democracy as such. In the countries now opening up to freedom. Democracy is being introduced in a situation which demands that the citizens greatly changed attitudes and patterns of behavior"

We are not a Democracy but a Democratic Republic that is governed by the rule of law. We elect people to Represent us to follow the rule of law as laid out in the Constitution.

I just wish people would take the time to correct others including our elected officials that keep saying we are a Democracy

You are right there is a break down but it is a break down of those elected to follow the Constitution.

A Republic, by definition, has two principle elements,

First, it is controlled by Law, therefore it does not control Law.
Second, it recognizes the private independent sovereign nature of each person (man or woman) of competent age and capacity, therefore a Republic must be representative in its nature.

A Republic recognizes Law is unchangeable, or at least that it can only be changed by a higher source than government. In a Republic the concept of “collective sovereignty” cannot exist, except with recognition that the State or nation, as a body of sovereigns, can speak through one elected voice; though that one voice can never lawfully interfere with the private rights of the individual sovereigns.

“A Constitutional Republic” is a government created and controlled, at least, by the Law of a Constitution. The Constitution of the United States of America was, in Law, foundationally based on the Bible, the Magna Carta, and The Declaration of Independence. Those documents recognize man’s sovereignty, the divine nature of man’s creation and man’s divine right to Life, Liberty, Property, and the pursuit of happiness.

A Democracy, by definition, has two principle elements,

First, it recognizes sovereignty as the right of the collective body of the people, which sovereignty is appointed to a governing body that executes its will over its people; in other words, mob rule.

Second, though each person has the privilege of casting their representative vote toward the sovereign collective body, a Democracy does not recognize independent sovereignty of any individual person.

Therefore, in a Democracy, the government can create and control its rules, regulations and what it calls “law” to suit the needs of what those in power call “common opinion” having no respect for private life, liberty, property or God.

The Founding Fathers of the United States of America were repulsed by Democracy, finding it to be the worst form of government possible.

Fascism, means dictatorial government controlled business.

It is a dictatorial form of government (only recognizing sovereignty in government); and, to the best of its ability, it controls all business operations and or relations. Though Fascism embraces Socialism, its favorite enemy is Communism. While the fascist cries wolf about the communists, to control them, the fascist would remove all private rights to commerce and industry through its control.

In the United States of America today, what most people think of as government rules virtually all operations of business and commerce through licenses while they privately own more than 73% of the available stock on the market; this is the very essence of Fascism.

We are not a Democracy
I know... I know.... I was posting this thread to make a point that the attack against our system was planned, and that evidence can be found in the writings of the Club of Rome, which many prominent elite belong. Democracy was there terminology, not mine.

Quite frankly, we're really in a 3rd Level Simulacrum (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=205177) if you want to be honest about our situation.
