also, on Sept 3rd-

I am so excited to announce that United States Congressman and Campaign for Liberty Honorary Chairman Ron Paul will be in New Orleans as the guest of honor at an early morning briefing on Thursday, September 3.

The event will begin promptly at 8:00am and will be held at the Best Western Landmark Hotel in Metairie. The Congressman will offer his thoughts on the current state of our nation and the future of the liberty movement. He'll also provide insight into his soon to be released book, End the Fed, and take time to meet with attendees of the event.

Joining Ron Paul will be Louisiana State Senator A. G. Crowe, who introduced the State Sovereignty Bill during the 2009 Legislative Session. This will surely be a day to remember as we gather with our fellow believers in limited government, sound money, and the Constitution.

Please join the Louisiana Campaign for Liberty, State Senator A.G. Crowe, and Congressman Ron Paul for this premier event. Breakfast buffet is included with your ticket of only $65.

If you've ever wanted to meet Ron Paul, this is your chance! Bring your book to be signed, your camera to capture the moment, and of course bring that burning question that only Dr. Paul can answer.

Tickets are only $65 before August 28 and space is limited. I hope to see you there!

For Freedom,

Heather Hand

Louisiana State Co-Coordinator

P.S. Spots are limited and expected to go fast! Don't miss your opportunity to have breakfast with Ron Paul in the great state of Louisiana. See you September 3!

Go here to purchase tickets before they run out-

economics professor at Loyola? Yes.
Many brilliant men teach in this state. A state where some of its inhabitants have never been informed that the civil war is over.
A state where there are communities in which no government controls directly and no law enforcement dare enter.
And even in those communities, their is a local voluntary government. Jeffersonian style.
We have the largest group of Jeffersonians(which is a group dedicated to laissez faire economics.)
This is also the state where Ron won his only caucus.

Dr. Walter Block fits in perfectly.

Dr. Walter Block fits in perfectly.

My point is that he is an anarcho-capitalist.

Yes, he does fit in perfectly in line with Ron Paul's natural law, natural rights, natural justice position. :)

Probably because there never was a civil war...

there was a 'war between the states' though:)

the lecture is open to the public and to informed students.
as far as I know, the lecture is free, the breakfast cost to go, but it should be more intimate with Ron.

capacity 413????

Conza is correct.

Tulane's campus is right next door to Loyola's, so double whammy. There will likely still be lots of parents in town dropping off kiddies for the new semester. Though politickin' may not be front and center on everyone's mind, if this thing gets any advertisement, it'll bust the doors down.

her Garmin has her lost at the moment, but somewhere close to the event.
(what I hear) she is cussing the drivers around her while her Garmin is spouting directions and constantly recalculating because she keeps missing her turns. :)

torchbearer

her quote "ah- I just missed the fucking turn!"
apparently the street signs are hard to see.

update: now she is trying to find parking in downtown new orleans.
She says there are a lot of people around the auditorium and there looks like there are no parking spaces left.
whoa.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:10 PM
She is telling me that everyone is parking in the "no parking - anytime zones"
(i think she is following suit- the nearest parking garage is blocks away.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:17 PM
holy shit, the auditorium is so full that they aren't allowing anymore people in...
they are setting up 'overflow rooms' for people to view the lecture.
so my sister is trying to find one of these rooms.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:20 PM
she is asking a guy if she can take a picture of the crowd. not sure if he is going to let her.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:23 PM
ok, my sister just charmed the door guy to let her in.
i'm listening to ron right now.

they said the over-flow room was full also.
She then asked if she could take a picture of the crowd..
and now she's in...

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:25 PM
the noise reduction gate on her head piece is making the lecture hard to hear.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:26 PM
he's talking about the failure of centralize planning... (ussr failed- etc)
talking about how our ideas are catching on...

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:28 PM
now he is tying it into the fed.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:30 PM
the crowd is clapping. sounds like a lot people.
(hopefully she is getting pictures)

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:32 PM
he is talking about his legislation to abolish the fed. (clapping from the crowd)

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 06:49 PM
its getting hard to hear, but he is talking about our debt.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 07:08 PM
the lecture just ended.

torchbearer
09-02-2009, 07:11 PM
she didn't get a picture.
she said from where she was standing she could only see the projector on the wall.
they told her their were 5 overflow rooms full.
the hall was full., people standing along the walls and behind the chairs.

I'm thinking Ron Paul should do a college tour.

http://www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2009/09/ron_paul_calls_for_reduced_gov.html

"Former presidential candidate Ron Paul hammered away at the importance of curtailing government spending in a wide-ranging speech in New Orleans this evening.

"We need to know when to just stop," Paul told nearly 1,000 students and community members on Loyola University's campus. "We've bankrupted our country and we're dumping it on your laps."

The Texas congressman, speaking in shirtsleeves and interrupted frequently by applause, said the country could cut down on spending by ending wars and downsizing government. He criticized the Cash for Clunkers program and plans for a federal health care system. Paul, a libertarian, also reiterated his call to audit the Federal Reserve and make its dealings more transparent."

My sister just had breakfast with Ron this morning. She is pumped.
she found out from people are the breakfast that the doors to nunemaker auditorium were closed at 6:30pm
meaning, the place was packed 30 minutes before the speech even began last night.

next time they can just rent out the superdome and we pack it.

Ron Paul Makes Rock Star Appearance At Loyola New Orleans

(too bad people had to be turned back from the event... they need to get a bigger place... at least they set up like 5 overflow rooms so people could watch)

Since the campaign, he's hit Rice, Wake Forest, and Loyola-NO. It would be interesting for him to go into a leftist stronghold, like an Ivy or Berkeley or Boulder
