Seems Bill Maher is doing his best to piss us off week after week. During tonite's show the topic came up about what's wrong with the GOP

Bill said, "the GOP's problem is that it has been taken over by the South. There's too many guys like Jim DeMint and that guy from Texas".

I don't know for sure but sounded like a shot at Ron Paul! Who else would Bill Maher have been talking about? Hopefully the video will come up soon to be posted. I just can't see who else he would be talking about, especially with the Name That Shall Not Be Spoken tone. Anybody else see that?

Rick Perry?

Why would he mean Ron Paul?

Rick Perry perhaps?..or Cornyn ?

He led with DeMint so he would have been talking about Congress. No other TX congressman or senator is in the spotlight like Ron Paul these days.

Rick Perry?

Why would he mean Ron Paul?

Were you watching? It really sounded like a shot at RP to me. Why wouldn't he say Perry's name? Of course I could be wrong and we'll probably never know who he meant but there's no one in TX causing a ruckus for Obama like RP is, including Perry. There's two R congressmen (Issa and Kingston) on with Bill so it just seems like they would only be talking about Congress. Oh well.

LMAO!!! Bill Maher the 'anti-racist' still rants about divisions in North/South. Someone needs to give him an update that the US has expanded westward and includes Cali, the state he resides in, which is a prime example of slavery expanding to the western territories (hows all that 'slavery' doing California right now?) :p

From what I can tell, the "North" uses the race card a hell of a lot more than the "South"

Bill said, "the GOP's problem is that it has been taken over by the South. There's too many guys like Jim DeMint and that guy from Texas".

In that context, it seems like he was referencing to Rick Perry, seeing as Perry said the "s" word, secession. Nobody really knows Perry, so calling him "that guy from Texas" wouldn't surprise me. If those are his exact words, then just reading them here I'd bet he was referencing Perry, not Paul.

After reading the OP's quote again, knowing Maher's past, could we all be missing the blatantly obvious.....GW BUSH???

All I know is that Bill Maher needs to put Ron back on to give that show a day of common sense.

He's to liberal, it may never happen. And he's a 9/11 comission report defender, which IMO makes him a complete toolsack.

He was talking about Rick Perry.

Maher's not a libertarian, but he does respect Ron Paul I think.

OK Ill defer to you guys. The secession part does make sense in that context. Maher seems to love bringing up the North/South garbage whenever he gets a chance these days. Is the guy trying to foment a new Civil War or something?

No, not a civil war. A divide between those that produce and work vs. those that have a handout to the nanny welfare state.

Guys, no way he was referring to Paul, it had to be Perry. Everybody hates perry, except for southern republicans.

I assume he meant Rick Perry. He's the Texan who's had a lot of prominence as a supposed representative of the right lately.

Could it have been Dick Armey? Or did I just want an excuse to say Dick Armey because every time I say Dick Armey I laugh?

So, was it Dick Armey?

He might very well have been referring to the governor of Texas, who got publicity recently about secession.

Someone should of jeered, 'May the South rise Again!'

"That guy from TEXAS", is an effective way to cover the loads of Republicans in TEXAS. Maher should of finished with... except for Ron Paul, they won't let him in the GOP (chuckle, laugh, gag).

Whether it was Paul or not, Maher definitely is not a fan. He claimed all that "hero" nonsense based off of the War in Iraq. But now that Paul is thrashing the left, their healthcare, their stimulus, cap & trade, and the rest...Maher becomes the enemy. I would probably say he meant Paul though, considering DeMint's ties to Paul via the Audit the Fed bill. Again, it doesn't matter. Maher is an idiot. He can't even tell California is collapsing from the say systems he wants in place nationwide.

Wow. So Ron Paul is the only politician in Texas now? Sounds sweet, has he dismantled the State yet?

Bill Maher is an illinformed piece of shit. That dude knows nothing of the Bills' he so fondly supports. He is jerkoff. Every week talks about how "america is stupid" yet never seems to tie that in with the left in power. I would think that is huge correlation. oh well, Bill is a one-trick leftist jerkoff. As phony as they come.

Maher has always been a WISHES libertarian, as in "when it suits his empty socialism." His support for Paul was only Bush deep, and now that W. is out, Maher defaults back to left mode.
