Anyway, I received a call 5 minutes ago, from none other than Chris Simcox, the likely Republican challenger to that turncoat John McCain. At first, I immediately thought it was a robocall. I was pretty taken back that a candidate I donated too actually called me. Chris and I talked extensively for about 10 minutes about the patriot movement and returning the GOP to it's original roots. I touched on the importance of his race as well as Rand Paul's and he stated that he was eyeing the Kentucky primary with serious interest as well. He explained his limited constitutional philosophy and sounded very sincere. He even went as far to send me an email with his personal cell phone number if I had any questions or suggestions.

I understand that due to the dire economic times, money is scarce but if you can aid Chris Simcox in his bid for Senate it would be much appreciated.

I like Chris. I met him when he spoke at a rally I helped organize in DC in 07. I'll donate to him.

It would be wonderful to roust McCain out of office. Yeah, I'll donate to that. :)

Oooof.

Gonna be an uphill battle.

McCain has $27,450,299 cash-on-hand.

Simcox as of June 30th has raised $57,805, and spent $54,038 leaving him $3,767 cash-on-hand. He's spent more than Rand Paul and Trey Grayson combined.

McCain sure is a favorite of the good ole boy network.

Yes, but he always wins his elections so easily. That's why he has so much on hand. He never needs to spend it!

People need to have an option to vote for someone that is more aligned with what they believe. I like Simcox, so I don't think I'm wasting my money.

Given how completely pissed so many people are these days, anything can happen.

That's my opinion, anyway.

Anyone seen any pre-poll numbers? It's not a crossover primary so I bet Simcox is closer than the money differential indicates. McCain's stock was hurt by that piss poor showing in the general election.

If you really want the answer, look it up on the MCDC web site.

It sure would be sweet to get McCain voted out in the primary.

Someone clarify something for me. I know minutemen co-founder Jim Gilchrist endorsed Huckabee in 2007, but then said he had second thought about that. What was Chris Simcox's position on all of this?

Simcox is a Ron Paul man. Simcox and Gilchrist are not associated. They started the Minuteman Project and parted ways about 2 years later and Simcox started Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.

Minuteman activist Chris Simcox, who was already in the race, told The Arizona Republic that he would not get out of the race if Hayworth gets in

Ahhh... hence the Minuteman choir.

(In the interest of full disclosure)

Simcox told the paper there’s “no way in hell” he’s quitting the race.

...and in a close race, he'll be the deal breaker ensuring McCain's victory.

Of course, this comes as a huge surprise.

So why are we just now hearing about this race? Why no moneybombs to this point? (Not directing this at you. Just our movement in general.) Looks like a catch 22. Support Simcox and McCain wins. Support Hayworth and a Ron Paul candidate looses. It's going to be difficult for Simcox to make up the difference from 4% to 43% for the next candidate. :( Perhaps Hayworth got in the race to blunt a potential surge from Simcox? It's clear that McCain is unpopular in his own state if he's struggling this bad in a primary.

Simcox was part of the NOV 5th moneybomb that Trevor Lyman promoted.

His latest FEC Report shows a ton of debt, well over $100,000...a huge chunk of it to some "Kylie & Associates" for "political consulting," though of the amount of money he spent, a good portion of it went to this firm.

Does anyone know this "Kylie & Associates" I think from somewhere out in California? Also, Simcox's original candidacy filing had him living in California....does he have a residence in Arizona?

I wouldn't be so hesitant on this guy if his FEC Report didn't have so many debts on it as of 9/30/09.

I haven't been in touch with him in over a year, but I can ask him for you if you want.
