Tim Duncan and Ron Paul
Has anyone else noticed how similar Tim Duncan and Ron Paul are?
Both:
1)
are from Texas (Tim Duncan is from San Antonio)
2)
both are the greatest at their professions, but are underpublicized. Both are opposed by large financial interests. (San Antonio is a small TV market)
Timothy Theodore Duncan (Tim, The Big Fundamental)

3)
Both are known for their intelligence, honesty, clean living, and sportmanship.

4)
And most importantly, both have a tremendous underground & Internet following.
You know how Ron Paul wins all those Internet polls?
Well, so does Tim Duncan!
The Sporting News set up an Internet poll where you can vote for the NBA player of the decade.
Sporting News Poll: Who Is The NBA Athlete Of The Decade: Kobe Or Duncan?
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132839
Before it was discovered by Spurs fans, Kobe Bryant was leading Tim Duncan by a vote of 58% to 42%.
"The results at the moment, 1739 votes in.
Kobe Bryant 1003 58%
Tim Duncan 736 42%"

But not long afterward, when Tim's underground movement started to vote, Tim stormed into the lead!
"Vote that shit up"

"Wtf"

"2 MVP's
4 Titles
3 Finals MVP's
Duncan over Kobe right now...."

"How is this even a contest. One played second banana to the most dominant player at the time. The other lead a franchise to the best winning percentage of the 4 major league teams since he arrived.
One toiled in mediocrity once dominant big man left. The other hasn't missed the playoffs once, and has bowed out in the first round only once.
Finally, one nearly ripped a team apart, while the other has done everything (from taking less money on a contract to taking a backseat offensively in the Finals when another player have a HUGE matchup advantage) to keep the team together."
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3616998&postcount=5
"Kobe is not the athlete of the decade over Duncan; that's ridiculous."
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3617017&postcount=6
RESULTS:
"Results at the moment:
Kobe Bryant 1056 56%
Tim Duncan 831 44%"
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3617068&postcount=10
"I just put Duncan ahead."
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3617311&postcount=11
"I'm going to go ahead and reinstall windows so I can get another vote in for Tim."

This really should be between Tim and Shaq."
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3617693&postcount=67
So from the first post at 6:08 PM to the 67th post at 11:29, a span of only 5 hours and 21 minutes, Tim Duncan surged into the lead, with his vote going from 42% to 70%!
I haven't seen poll numbers jump like this since the heyday of the Ron Paul presidential campaign!!
It's time to get the Tim Duncan movement on board with the Ron Paul movement!!!
