I think the "I'll give back your money if I don't run." was a good move.

Win win situation.

We got any kind of goal for tomorrow?

Wow. I haven't been really following Schiff, but that is impressive. The other republican establishment candidates have about that according to their last FEC filing.

I think by midnight, August 8th, Schiff will easily be the GOP fundraising frontrunner.

I am skeptical that that number is real and not just a mistake.

Someone should call the office and ask. I would but I can't... (202) 470-6300!

There is no mistake. that is actual fundraising totals for schiff. They do however need to deduct about 38k from that total and that should happen shortly.

well he's got rich friends, clients, and himself. You want to start with a nice push; gives you more credibility

Ya he was trying to get all his video blog subscribers and viewers to donate a few weeks ago.. we had some Schiff money bombs so I'm not completely surprised, but thought the total was a bit lower.

WOW.

I think we under estimate Peter fame on youtube and other social sites.

He gets in front of a webcam and 15,000 people will watch.

This is very encouraging and should be a big boost to tomorrows effort.

LOL Schiff is blowing by Rand.

Hopefully Schiff gets over a million tomorrow, I guess he only has a half-million to go.

And then Rand needs to pull in a million in two weeks.

One thing going in Schiff's favor is that he is facing 3 RINO's so the rino's might split the neocon vote.

This is funny:

The race to face Senator Dodd, among Republican challengers, has an early champ in fundraising. He may be unknown to the general public but Greenwich businessman Tom Foley may have set a record for raising the most money in the shortest period of time.

He was the last Republican to get in the race barely a month ago. But, he has raised over $500,000 in just 26 days.

I'm betting Schiff just annihilated him:)

Oh god ::shiver::

Why does Steve Parent know the insider details of Schiff's fundraising? Is the 38k your personal take?

oh my god I can't believe Foley and Simmons have raised so much

this is going to be really competitive

WE NEED TO MAKE SURE SCHIFF CAN COMPETE WITH THESE CLOWNS

If 2,500 people have donated, that means the average donation was $180, which is completely believable to me considering all of his rich clients.

I think Peter may be in the lead after tomorrow, though Simmons and Foley have likely improved upon their numbers over the last month.

Well, I donated $500 already and plan on donating another $100 tomorrow and I'm not rich by any means. I fucking hate politicians and I see Peter as the anti-politician. I just hope he doesn't sell us out once he gets in office...

Those are solid numbers for an "exploratory committee" Just wait until he (presumably) runs. Things will go nuclear.
