White House: Report "Fishy" Disinformation (http://www.jbs.org/jbs-news-feed/5197)

Ann Shibler | John Birch Society (http://www.jbs.org/)
06 August 2009

A WhiteHouse.gov blog (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Facts-Are-Stubborn-Things/) is encouraging American citizens to report to the White House any “disinformation” on the president’s health care bill that appears “fishy,” as the White House needs to be informed about opposition to the proposed reform.

Linda Douglass, the communications director from a White House office specializing in health care reform rhetoric, I mean "disinformation" gathering, is asking for the public’s help in reporting anyone who isn’t touting the president’s position according to White House Hoyle:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to " flag@whitehouse.gov This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ."

Douglass and her boss seem to be upset by the “scary chain emails and videos [that] are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to ‘uncover’ the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions.”

Douglass’ video on the website explains that the president is just trying to bring health reform to the American people via disciplining insurance companies, and says how unfortunate it is that people with a computer “and a lot of time on their hands” are “cherry picking” certain aspects of the bill and presenting them out of context. They find it hard to believe that Americans wouldn’t want this, as it is similar to the federal employee system of health care exchanges.

Also from the website comes:

For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them.

So, perhaps the President should be reported to flag@whitehouse.gov This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for promoting this scheme, when it appears to conflict with Section 102, page 16 of H.R. 3200. (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c111:1:./temp/~c1110tvAjr:e22987:)

As far as the snitch program goes, I can just see a Saturday Night Live-style skit on this one already....

If Obama was really worried about people being misinformed on his healthcare bill. Then why not put out a series of vides with him addressing the bill page by page, line by line instead of haivng Americans snitch on each other? It would put to rest that he knows what's in it, congress would have no reason not to know what's in it and we'd know from the horse's mouth about it.

Because it's all about making sure only the disinformation gets out, and it's hard to misinform when you're itemizing.

We should flood them with email reporting every line from Obama, the NY Times and other propaganda pieces.

How about flooding Congress with e-mails for Impeaching Obama?

Because Congress ( for the most part) does not care what you think.
They want this Health Care Package and are trying to sell it.
Our "representatives" are not working for us, They are representing special interests, and Corporate interests.

Another one of the Dem talking points is "that it's not true that illegal aliens will be covered under the bill" and point to a section.

Here's the catch: it says illegal aliens can't get "credits".

So what's a "credit" - it's something where the less you make, the more credits you get and the more credits you have - the less you have to pay for your mandated insurance.

When your congress critter brings this up, they will leave off the word "credit".

Basically what it means is that illegal aliens are exempt from getting robbed, (mandated insurance) like the rest of us under this bill and will continue to get free health care at their local emergency room.

I sent a very simple e-mail to that e-mail address.

Repeating it here would probably be a violation of forum rules....
