They should lengthen the thermometer only by $100k at a time.

I think 550-575 is a more reasonable expectation. Most active Paul supporters have already made their donation for the meter already. Alot of you people have unreasonable expectations. The longer it goes the more it will slow down. After this point most hardcore supporters have already donated. There aren't alot of casual supporters in this campaign which can be both good and bad. We really need to do a good job of recruiting more people...because as the campaign gets further along, the less money there will be from those of us here at the beginning(due to being tapped out).

We need to keep spreading the word about the fundraiser and how important it is, family friends, messsage boards, join the myspace effort etc.

No resting until we hit $1 million, get to searching find new places to post this!!

Only about $100,000 (give or take) left. We'll definitely make it. I doubt we'll get to a million, though. A more realistic estimate is $750,000 at most. Unless, of course, a bunch of people are waiting until payday. That would be something to watch.

man I predicted this before they made the reach 500k! I said they NEED to raise 1 million this week a few days before they started this. I also said they WOULD once they started this....

This is a slow day, tomorrow and friday will bang bang bang all the way to the 30th!

A million will be tough. But, I'm still hopeful. :) $750K would also be flat out amazing. I'm hoping we get a kick from tomorrow's debate.

We have made 400K+ in about 60 hours. There are 97 hours left, although granted it is slowing down right now, it will also probably pick up on Saturday and Sunday due to people getting paid this Friday + being the final push for the quarter. We also may get a bump from the debate tomorrow. I think 750K is reachable, a mill is a stretch but I believe it could happen.

I get my paycheck on Sunday, I'll be giving what i can to hopefully give a boost.

going to have to find more people to donate if we want to get it significantly past 500k

Yes I agree 1 million should be the goal!

From RP2k8.com: "Couples may contribute up to $4,600.00"

Did you mean legally you're all in or you've done all you can do?

My guess is $650-$750k. It's amazing that they're almost at $500,000 already, but it's not going to be a linear rate of donations.

But hey, if it's a million... AWESOME!

I'm thinking if we hit $500K tomorrow, it will get a lot of press, more people will hear about it, more people will start to believe Ron Paul has a chance, and the donations for the rest of the week will come in at an even higher rate.

Still chugging along at 6-7K/hr. We will hit 500K about 5 pm tomorrow EST. Then, with 3 full days and 7 hours left to go -- including a debate, which always piques interest in Dr. Paul -- we can see if we want to go for a cool mil.

I think we should! Imagine the PR -- a million bucks online in less than a week!

$422,253 at 11:20

I think a good goal would be to surpass John Edwards' 10 day drive for a million (he is currently at 600K) Considering that he got a three days start on us and is supposedly "top-tier" I think that would be pretty amazing!

Between 8:30 and 11:30 tonight made about 22K, so over 7K/hr.

Last night between midnight EST and 9 AM EST we made 25 K (everyone's asleep). We will hit 425K around midnight, then assume the same 25K overnight to 9 AM EST, putting us at 450K. We will make that sometime between 3 pm and 5 pm tomorrow.

Awesome. If we can keep going at that rate of $125 K per day it will make us about 950 K. I guarantee if we get that close then people will step up. Wild card: debate help?

$1,000,000 is very doable.

He has 96 hours (4 days) to get 577K. He would need 6K/hr to hit $1 million.

There will be some slow down, but there will also probably be a spike on Friday or the 30th a pay day.

Will be interesting to see what effect the debate tomorrow has. It should be a low viewership debate, but who knows...

On payday I'll be giving the counter a push, and I'm sure many others will too.

And as a delicately phased sidenote (effseeseenosee):
All donations received at my non political, environmental, recycling website, http://FreeSharing.org (PayPal button at bottom right) before October 2nd, from any source, will be in turn donated to the Ron Paul campaign.

btw, I'm betting on hitting $500,000 at 4:35AM EST Thursday and 1.2Million by the midnight on the 30th. I wish they had that thermometer months ago, watching the pennies change from .76 to .08 is entertainment in itself. (k I'm easily amused)
