would either of them promise to end this stupid Af-Pak war?

seems both parties in UK are war parties but at least they have Lib-Dems.

Gary Johnson was against the war and the only Republican governor to not endorse George Bush.

Gary Johnson confided to Bill Kauffman in an American Conservative Magazine article that if he runs for President in 2012, he will run from an anti-war stance. Source: http://www.amconmag.com/article/2009/apr/20/00035/ (http://www.amconmag.com/article/2009/apr/20/00035/)

I don't have the link, but Peter Schiff has said at the CT LP speech (I believe) and elsewhere that we need to end the war/ not get into stupid wars, etc.

I know he's addressed this somewhere, I just can't remember where.

While I was always rooting for Johnson (I got to meet him in Minneapolis, and he said he told me he may run!), that American Conservative reminded me about how disappointed I was in Sanford. He was a great, credible voice on the economy and would have made a great second choice/compromise candidate if he were to run. Maybe he still should.

Sanford had his good points, but he was by no means an anti-war candidate. His criticisms of the Kosovo involvement (which just about every Republican opposed back then) have been way overblown by libertarian fans of his.

Take for instance, Sanford's support for pre-emptively striking North Korea, and his statement that he would "always defer to his mentor Newt Gingrich on foreign policy issues": http://www.palmettoscoop.com/2009/04/05/sanford-would-have-attacked-north-korea/ (http://www.palmettoscoop.com/2009/04/05/sanford-would-have-attacked-north-korea/)

That quote was the key to me losing faith in Sanford. Anybody hanging around Gingrich, especially the ones calling him his/her mentor, is tainted. Still had some hope for the guy, but after the unfaithfulness and whatnot I can't see myself supporting him.
