Jim Demint, the first one to co-sponsor audit the Fed and the one who is helping so much to get it passed.

Jim DeMint is the best Senator. He had the highest number in the Freedom Index after last year. As per second best congress person, I haven't a clue. I would definitely give Marsha Blackburn (R-TN7) a look. She has consistently voted with conservative values this year and in past ones. In addition, in the Energy and Commerce Committee, she is a strong presence against the Democrats.

He also co-sponsored the Iraq war resolution (as a congressman).
But still he's better than most other senators.

She voted for HR 2749, the take over of the food supply. The Vote (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll680.xml)

She isn't as good as she seems.

Ah why is she so odd then? Honestly I don't follow her every move. She talks a lot about the constitution, too bad sometimes she feels ok violating it.

There are plenty of people who are great on a number of issues, but many of these people are horrible on others.

Kucinich would fall in this category. Great on social freedom and foreign policy, terrible on economic issues. Bachman is kind of like the opposite of that.

Walter Jone (R-NC3) is good on economics, and while originally bad on foreign policy, he has made a true conversion for the better. I'm not sure how he is on social policy. My man problem with Jones is that he's not as nearly articulate on expressing the philosophy behind his stances as RP is.

Are any of the (so called) blue dog democrats good on economics?

DeMint comes to mind in the Senate. And don't think that the left media doesn't know it. Last night John Stewart continued his nightly references to Mark Sanford in a segment on how crazy South Carolina is. He used this as a way to fit in a negative reference to DeMint. DeMint is in their cross-hairs.

I'm not saying she's bad, just that there are better people in Congress than her. She sounds too much like she is just spouting the party line.

What I like about Flake is that he is extremely consistent. He has been against earmarks from day one and offers hundreds of amendments to remove them. I enjoy turning on C-Span and watching him preach about free market economics. "Why does $2.3 million need to go to this company? Why can't we let the market decide if this is a good product or a bad one? If the company is good, it will make it without the government's help."

Brian: Well, every reference is now to his comments about Health Care being Obama's Waterloo.

I agree with most the others here. Dimint is the 2nd best in Washington.

The best outside of Washington is Bobby Jindal, IMO.

According to the Freedom Index
These are the most Constitutional Congressmen

http://www.thenewamerican.com/files/Freedom_Index_111-1.pdf

Ron Paul (http://www.house.gov/paul/) (Texas - R) 100%
Jeff Flake (http://flake.house.gov/) (Arizona - R) 100%
John Duncan, Jr (http://www.house.gov/duncan/) (Tennessee - R) 100%

Duncan is definitely the second best in my book. He's easily better than Flake, Bachman, or Demint because of his consistent opposition to the Iraq War. I would also rate Walter Jones more highly than those 3. Even though he has not been as reliable on fiscal matters as them, he has been better on foreign policy.

If you include Supreme Court justices, then I would put Clarence Thomas up there too.

She reminds me of Naomi Wolf...

Good looking but missing a few pieces in her puzzle box.
