View Full Version : @ Sheriff Richard Mack (Why would you use an endorsement from Joe Arpaio?)

Received the Sheriff's book and went to read it and saw an endorsement on the back...

From Joe Arpaio...

Joe Arpaio is the douche-bag sheriff with the massively long list of human rights violations.

Amnesty International has even investigated his jails...

Check out the laundry list of horrific events that have taken place under his watch.

Arpaio doesn't seem like the type of person that should be associated with a pro protection of civil liberties movement...

Take it as a blessing. His endorsement will get law enforcement to read it.

Law enforcement that is a fan of Joe Arpaio?

We don't want abusive law enforcement picking and choosing from this book...

If they only walk away with the idea of the Sheriff taking orders from no one, and ignore all the responsibility and protection of civil liberties then what we have accomplished?

IMHO the complaints against Arpaio include a mix of legitimate and illegitimate ones. It may grate against some bleeding hearts' sensitivity to see rapists and murderers having to wear pink underwear and working on chain gangs, which are two of the more well-known supposed problems of his. But I don't have a problem with them. That bit about having a webcam showing pre-trial detainees really bothers me though.

Key words = DEATHS & INJURIES

I actually thought the same thing as civilradiant when I first got the book. I was kind of suprised to see Arpaio on the back, as I am definatly not a fan. i think it is a valid question. I may e-mail Mack and see what he says about it.

Like somone already said maybe it is a way to get other sheriffs to look at it, because of the name recognition. I don't know for sure and do not want to speak on behalf of Mack.

Just heard back from the Sheriff, he writes:

Kevin:
I am on a radio show right now (even as we speak) addressing that very issue.
It is plain and simple, he is good advertising.
He has done some good things but no he is not a constitutional sheriff YET!
I am working on him just like I am lots of others.
But you are correct on Arpaio, but we are going to keep trying.

That looked like a pretty good answer.
