We all know that there are similarities between Ron Paul and Kucinich / Gravel. The democrat side of the election is pretty much sealed at this point, and Hitlary despite her large negative numbers will manipulate her way to getting the nomination.

When Ron Paul gets the nomination for the republican side (notice the lack of doubt!), do you think that the supporters of Kucinich and other democrats will switch to side with Dr. Paul for the general election?

Depends. If they are pure hardcore anti-NWO types, then they probably will. If they are just socialists who think kucinich is the most "pure", i doubt it.

The important part is that he win the nomination, so everyone needs to register as a Republican and vote for him in the primary.

I think Gravel and Kucinich supporters will switch if neither of those two win the nomination.

Kucinich isn't really the other side of the same coin. He is for a cradle-to-grave type government. I also find issues with his Iraq plan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kucinich#The_Kucinich_Plan_For_Iraq). He essentially replaces U.S. troops with foreign troops (don't the Iraqis want us just to get out? where does he plan on getting these foreign troops?) and leaves such an open ended vague obligation on the part of the U.S. to "fix" Iraq.

Well at this point the anti-war segment of the vote is huge. Hitlary isn't anti-war... though she confuses people with her constant (for / against) keeping troops there. On that issue alone I think we would get a huge boost from democratic supporters.

Perhaps some of those who aren't so liberal will support Ron Paul (assuming he wins) after the primaries. I think most will probably support the Democratic nominee, support a 3rd party candidate, or just stay home.

i think leaners will come to paul for his stance on the war, and once better educated on fiscal/economic issues.

if we play our cards right, yes.

as a matter of fact, if we play our cards right they will
switch to paul before the primaries...

this gets down to the whole alienate versus exclude
debate that gets all the commie haters wound up and
acting like communists.

Agree. It's the degree of socialism within each supporter that will determine if they switch to Ron Paul or not. For some reason, even the most avowed anti-war democrat will stick with the party - even pro-war Hillary - if their internal level of socialism is too high. Which I kind of link with their overall level of intellect.

the idea is to play off of their misguided "socialistic" tendencies. it is precisely
the fear of 'socialism' that has driven many people over to the democratic base...

now, it's hard to continue a discussion along these lines b/c i think the distinction
between state socialism and human socialism has not been made clear enough
by members of either party... but that's a discussion for another day.

when most folks think of devil socialism GdubDa shrub is precisely what comes
to mind... they have been misled into believing that Hill/Obamatron are the
antithesis to Gdub, hence the polar opposite of devil socialism (fascism, really).

we have to appeal to them by displaying the efficacy of personal charity and the
power of the individual to create a better world for themselves, their families, and
their neighbors. in this regard we must lead by example and example alone...

the dems have the monopoly on the language/emotion of it... we must pwn the
reality.

Interesting question.

Our Miami Meetup organizer was invited by the leader of the local Kucinich group to give a presentation about Ron Paul.

The Kucinich guy is hoping IF their guy drops out, he can move that group over to Ron Paul support.
