Ouch. Must suck for the establishment to now have three republicans (no democrats) challenging Paul and all of them be broke loser candidates. Also, this Wall guy seems to have been in big with Mitt Romney's 2008 campaign, though I guess it could be a different Gerald Wall since the Romney one was supposedly part of Romney's Michigan team.

YouTube - Gerald Wall for Congress (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq90qfVawuE)

Cash on hand:

Ron Paul: $2,185,264
Jeff Cherry: $537 (DEBT: $781)
John Gay: $0
Gerald Wall: $0

Kick ass. Democracy. America. Down-to-Earth. Sanity. Republic. Bombastic hand gestures. Democracy. Tradition. Action. Republican. National defense, y'all. Democracy. Tradition. Down-to-Earth. God.

This election is about democracy, y'all. We need to take action to save this republic for which it stands and with God by our side and common men in D.C., we can have that, just as our Fathers intended. Hell yeah -- and let's use some common sense and git them terrorists for America!

It's a common campaign tactic among incumbent congressmen to not debate their opponents unless they have a real shot at winning. The thinking is that debating them makes them legit candidates in the minds of voters.

Since Cherry, Gay and Wall have no shot, I personally wouldn't debate them. But it is up to Dr. Paul himself.

I turned it off when he said that he's only watched us turn into -random conservative mantra- in the last year. It's been going on for much longer than that.

Why does someone who supposedly supports the Constitution, free markets, limited government, and a strong national defense want to run against Ron Paul?

Because the best defense is offense?

What does he have to lose? Ron Paul sat on the biggest congressional warchest after the 2008 election. I'd rather see some free exchange of ideas.

BTW, nobody is going to bother running a puppet against Ron Paul unless they have a plan to beat him. With the low amount of money each opposing candidate has, it is obvious they aren't supported by any big player.

I have read on the internets that you are severly mistaken:

At least the Democrats would leave some troops overseas to protect American interests, while Paul would remove all of them and allow Islamic radicals to overrun our interests and allies everywhere. He even advocates shutting down all military bases here at home, essentially leaving the country defenseless. I also read on the internet that 9/11 was an inside job, the moon landing was fake, Obama wasn't born in America, that Iraq was a huge success, Lee Harvey Oswald didn't work alone.....and all kinds of other garbage.

Ron Paul is stronger on national defense than the neocons.

All the hand gestures are revealing body language cues. He is trying to distract your attention from both his words and his eyes. The eyes always give away if someone is lying. People that use a lot of hand gestures when speaking know they are lying, or at least don't personally believe what they are saying, if it is in fact the truth. This is the type of stuff that politicians practice.

As an arm-seizuring Italian I resent that and can say for certain its not true. When I (and most Italians) use hand gestures it is a sign of passion, not lies!

In the case of politicians, it is entirely purposeful. Better?

You mean like Obama? Btw, I never saw Patrick Henry speak in person. Can you tell us how it was?

Regardless, my statement is based in fact. Hand gestures are very telling body language. If we wish to specifically analyze the particular hand motions of this Wall fellow we can.

heh, I was only half serious devil; and yes I do agree with you that body language is very important to analyze when trying to determine a politicians' true motives.

It was great! ;) In all seriousness, there was the Give Me Liberty speech he did where at the end he jammed a letter opener towards his heart and it had a dramatic effect on the convention he was attending, swaying the audience(something that rarely happens witgh political bodies).

This man scares the crap out of me. His tone, his body language, all suggest an overly aggressive, jingoistic personality. But what alarms me even more is his lying and intellectual dishonesty. He talks of unseating cold and uncaring career politicians, when he very well knows that one of the only exceptions to this rule is the very man from whom he is trying to wrest political power.

He's a partisan hack, as is well-evidenced by this telling quote:

"But in less than a year, I've watched us become the biggest nanny state, suck-up, tax & spend, socialistic Big Brother state I've ever witnessed."

In "less than a year" my ass. This has been happening for a great deal longer than a year. Try a decade...You just didn't notice it when it was *your* chosen socialist in office (Bush).

Because they should be running against the likes of Chris Dodd or Tim Greyson.

I hope so too. I had a palpable negative emotional reaction when I saw this video, and I'm not the kind of person who picks up "vibes" from everybody. My sister is strongly empathic though, and she agrees with me. In her words, he's "shady."

He's trying just a little to hard to act like a Texas "good ol' boy", with the macho swagger, the tensing of the shoulder muscles, the head-bobbing, and the "slashing", "chopping", and pointing hand gestures. So reminiscent of Dubya it isn't even funny.

Notice also how he punctuates his endorsement of a strong national defense with "That's right...I said it!!!" Very confrontational, as if he's posturing in preparation for a bar-room brawl.

Does he not care what the people have to say? THERE I SAID IT! Gerald Wall does not care what the people have to say.

Also, more people will be at the BBQ alone then there will be total voters for the 3 also-rans combined.

LOL! Check this out; another YouTube user, no doubt inspired by the levels of outrage in the comments section of the candidate's own YouTube, has set up another one with the sole intent of creating more videos (identical, but different titles) for the guy. Then the only user who left a (very poorly worded) positive comment on Wall's section chimed in on one of these clone videos. Not trying to make unfounded accusations, but this looks a lot like a sock-puppet account designed to engineer consent.

Having over $2,000,000 is a lot of cash. Considering that Ron Paul already has the district essentially in his pocket, maybe he could use some of that money to change the mind of his constituents on some issue.
