Ben Smith has the results (http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0709/Poll_28_of_Republicans_dont_believe_Obama_was_born _in_US.html) of a disturbing Research 2000 poll that asks Americans whether they “believe that Barack Obama was born in the United States of America or not.” Independents (83 percent) and Democrats (93 percent) say he is. Republicans are more divided: Forty-two percent say yes, twenty-eight percent say no, and thirty percent aren’t sure.

A 2007 Rasmussen poll (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/bush_administration/22_believe_bush_knew_about_9_11_attacks_in_advance ) about the 9/11 attacks, which found 35 percent of Democrats said Bush might have known about the attacks in advance, became a frequently used (http://colorado.mediamatters.org/items/200705220005) bludgeon against the party and its voters. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same thing happen here.

If you asked Republicans if Obama is the direct love child of Satan and Jezebel a plurality would say Yes.

Exactly. I'd take polls like this with a grain of salt.

Similar to the people I know who believe "Bush did 9/11". They don't really believe it - but attach Bush to something negative and they'll say yes he did it.

After all the frenzy to silence the issue I believe he was born in Kenya as well. Espcially after the Kenyan ambassador so matter of factly discussed how Obama's birth place was well known and that they were going to mark it for people to visit.

Stuff like this isn't just said accidentally. Thing only thing that disturbs and disgusts me is those willing to ignore the circumstances surrounding this isue and the loose ends. I can understand being politically biased in favor of Democrats and not wanting the issue to be looked into (many Democrats just don't want the truth out there). But I cannot really stand disingenuous people who ignore conversation abou facts and lie about their motives for wanting the subject closed.

I have a lot more respect for those that just sa, I am politically biased and don't care if he lied and defrauded his way into the white house. Or if you simply say I don't care about this issue because the Constitution is just a "Stupid piece of paper".....but to lie to me and say there is no evidence suggesting he was born in Kenya, is an insult to my intelligence.

Well, this includes Sarah Palin Republicans who think Obama was born in Hawaii, but just figure Hawaii isn't really a part of the US ;)

This is starting to look like cruel and unsual punishment for GOP that has been overdone. Living under regime of "foreign born" son of an African arab muslim man right after we were trying to introduce our style of Constitutional freedoms and message of Jesus to Iraqis is too much. God have mercy on GOP and America.

If you asked Republicans if Obama is the direct love child of Satan and Jezebel a plurality would say Yes.If you want to have the most fun ever doe the following:

- pick up a CB radio
- go to a major Southern city
- sit near large interstate junctions
- tune to channel 19 (truckers channel)
- start saying good things about Obama!

HA HA HA. It'll be an entire afternoon full of entertainment I guarantee you that. And your vocabulary will increase too because there will be words there you have never heard before!

Ok why did the mods move the Kenyan BC thread to hot topics? What is this censorship? Are you guys crooked? Whats up? I have to see a slew of ant-birther threads and then when something new is released about Obama it gets sent to "hot topics".

Really sad. So only anti birther attack threads allowed eh? Anything other than that not allowed. I am beginning to wonder about some of the people working as "mods" on these boards. The Kenyan BC thread was hurting nothing where it was....was it too damning? What?

At Fancy Farm, I asked Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul if President Obama was born in the United States and he said he "didn't know". Yes, Rand Paul is a birther.
