Both Republicans. Peg ran three times before for Governor. Toomey was a Rep in the 15th District. Toomye ran for Senate in 2005 against Specter and lost by 1.7%, the Club for Growth even spent 2 million dollars for him on advertising. Peg Luskik has run as a Constitution Party candidate before.

Conclusion: libertarian-leaning conservative, though has many Neoconservative beliefs, pro drug war, pro-war, bad on civil liberties, was President of Club for Growth but they only gave him a C, votes against gays, voted for Iraq war, is a social conservative, better than Arlen Specter, not as good as Peg Luskik, GOP establishment/Bush worked against him in his Senate run, good rating from Republican Liberty Caucus, bad rating from ACLU, 100% Pro-life and against abortion,

Peg Luksik Will Challenge Specter In Primary
HARRISBURG, Pa. — A conservative activist who ran for Pennsylvania governor three times in the 1990s says she will challenge Arlen Specter for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate next year.
Peg Luksik, of Johnstown, said Tuesday she is not deterred by the prospective candidacy of former congressman Pat Toomey. Toomey, a fellow conservative who narrowly lost to Specter in the 2004 primary, says he is considering running in 2010.
Luksik says Toomey told her last month that he wouldn't challenge Specter. She says it's up to Toomey to decide whether he wants to risk dividing the GOP's conservative wing and allowing Specter to win a sixth term.
Luksik is best known as an anti-abortion activist.
The 79-year-old Specter has clashed repeatedly with the party's more conservative members.
