The first thing that comes to mind when i think about the numbers in terms of dollars that Ron Paul supporters are generating in the third quarter is the fact that Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter & Tom Tancredo simply will not be able to compete with the millions that Paul supporters are shoveling out. On top of this is the fact that Pauls team is far and away the most fiscally responsible and can stretch a dollar further then the rest of the group. Also John McCain is wavering. Lets hope he breaks this quarter so we can get the playing field down to Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul & Rudy Giuliani. Then let the games begin. When Paul goes into the final stretch with these men imho the real battles will begin. At that time Pauls criticism of the war will burn in the ear of those other candidates and the nation will begin to pay attention in mass.

Just in demonstrating real fiscal conservatism he's going to get the message across. It's glorious.

well actually a lot of it depends on how the other candidates spend. If they blew all their money last quarter trying to appear like front runners and spending ridiculous amounts on advisors and speech writers. I have a feeling guiliani was smart with his money, he nearly slipped under the radar this quarter and spent this entire quarter fundraising. The rest are hopefully screwed. Romney we'll see. If they are all broke but ron paul, guiliani and romney we'll be in GREAT shape and officially top tier for the rest of the caucus. yay!

The campaigns are trying hard to lower expectations.

Obama expects to raise $18 million to $19 million this quarter, an aide said, and add at least 75,000 new donors to his donor list of 258,000. An Obama e-mail to supporters on Monday said the campaign was aiming for 350,000 by quarter's end.

Not so much the money yet because he spends it wisely and grassroots is doing a monumental name recognition campaign. It would be great to be competitive with the front runners on # of donors.
