Find out who has donated to a campaign in your area. It searches by zip code and gives you name, employer, amount, and recipient.

This is only counts donations made before June 30, 2007.

Find out who's lying and who's not! haha. J/k

That's the kind of public information that makes me NOT want to donate.

My name isn't in there, and I've donated more than once.

holy cow!
I see so many names i recognize as clients of my company. Thats crazy! Looks like even though these are from only first quarter ron paul still dominated in my area. Although one big business jerk maxed out on both romney and guiliani. I'm going to have to show up to one of those county business meetings and have some talks.

I made a large enough donation during that period to be listed... but I was not. I am glad, but it makes you wonder ...

No need to "report."

They will be refunded.

Who would you report it to? The source of the information according to the link is the FEC. Call me suspicious if you want, however, is it possible the FEC would put out this information to see who would raise a stink about it?

By the way, those donations do look like some sort of violation to me. I could also be biased since I consider donating money to Hillary Clinton's campaign to be a major lapse in judgement.

Not when you have something to gain from her presidency, it aint.

Check out all the donations she and Giuliani get from Manhattan alone... it boggles the mind. Most of the donations are the maximum. Must be big business there.

I just did a search on my zip code of 28209 and I got multiple donations for Hillary and Edwards from the same name. There's definitely something not right here. Is there anything that limits individual donations during earlier quarters???

Example:
"4 Del Rosso, Nick Charlotte NC 28209 Vital Management Services, In... $2,300 John Edwards
5 Del Rosso, Nick Charlotte NC 28209 $-100 John Edwards
6 Del Rosso, Nick Charlotte NC 28209 Vital Management Services, In... $2,300 John Edwards
7 Del Rosso, Nick Charlotte NC 28209 Vital Management Services, In... $100 John Edwards"

"8 Dorrier, Nancy Charlotte NC 28209 Dorrier Underwood, Inc $2,300 Hillary Clinton
9 Dorrier, Nancy Charlotte NC 28209 Dorrier Underwood, Inc $2,300 Hillary Clinton"

GUYS STOP FREAKING OVER THE OVER LIMIT DONATIONS!!!!!!

You can give more than $2300; It just has to be sent to a different bank account and cannot be used in the primary.

I can give Hillary Clinton $4,600 right now; Half for primary, half only to be spent if in the general. (just an example, there are a myriad of other possibilities)

They are not "cooking the books" or "cheating" or anything like that; They just like to collect all donations at one time b/c they dont have to worry about soliciting that person again.

ok....that may explain some of these cases, but in others we have individuals donating $10,000 or more to a candidate. I'm not assuming that there is something illegal taking place, but it does seem a bit strange.

These are only for donations over $200. I always donate less than $200 a pop to avoid hitting that magic number (but write down every donation so I don't go over the limit).

Also, they can only report the information provided. So, every time you donate, use a slightly different version of your name- Maybe John E. Smith one time and J. Edward Smith the second, and maybe J. Smith a third time (it helps if you have several credit cards with variations of your name). And if you have dyslexia, who can blame you for making a mistake: one time your zip may be 12180, the next time it might be 12810 (punch in a few random zip codes on the web site, you will see some WEIRD stuff- States and zip codes that don't match up. (Note: I'm not advocating doing anything illegal, I really do have mild dyslexia.)

Of course, you can play fast and loose with your "employer" too- especially if you have more than one job- if you have a real job, a part time job, a seasonal job, and maybe an Army Reserve job, you can go nuts, lol.

If they have a bunch of $150- $199 donations under 6 different variations of your name, with different employers, and maybe the occasional zip code mistake, I'll bet you can get to $2,300 without ever appearing on one of these lists (opensecrets.com has had this data for years, btw).

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I really don't want anyone knowing how much I donate- and for piddling amounts like $2,300, there is no reason anyone has to know- record the "soft" money millions from guys like Soros, maybe, but stop harassing citizens making tiny donations!

You forgot to mention that you can also donate another $4600 to Dr Paul via his House seat reelection campaign. ;)

Bad vibes. Campaign contributions direct to Headquarters should remain somewhat confidential . A certain lee-way is understood. Passing information of contributors to 2nd and 3rd parties or gleaning information without authority of donors is questionable. If they are on a forum such as Meetup or My Space thats different. Some people wish to remain private... My apologies if this has already been adressed in this thread.

We should see a refund if someone donates over 4,600. There isnt any gov. agency we can ask about this?

That's the kind of public information that makes me NOT want to donate.
Rather than let this make you want to donate, we should let it make us want to repeal all campaign finance regulations. And the best way to do that is with Ron Paul. So suck it in for one more year and donate away.

Over $200, it's the law, it has to be published.

If this info bothers you, warrantless wiretaps and the NSA/dept of homeland security reading your emails and should frighten you enough to donate more to RP.
