There's no escaping the long arm of big government - even here at the far edge of a state whose license plate decrees that without freedom from oppressive authority you might as well choose death. But for Doobie and 500 others, this tent colony on this particular weekend is about as close to Libertarian Nirvana as they're likely to get.

It wasn't a favorable article, as it tries to paint libertarians as wacky (Doobie? Are you serious?), and assumes that we're all for "small government", ignoring the 25-30% of us that want to abolish the state altogether.

But, even mediocre or bad press is better than no press.

One alarming part of the article for me was about how 9/11 hurt the beginning stages of the project. Really sad that if the FSP gains serious traction and the gov't pulls another 9/11 it will pretty much kill it.

This has been previously posted in the grassroots central. But, I thought the article was quite positive. It was also featured on foxnews online and yahoo. Everyone I've talked to up here is excited about the coverage, so.

Just made the front page at Digg.com

Thanks for posting the Digg link. Doobie isn't a freestater and I don't know if he is a libertarian or not. There are a lot of freedom lovers in NH that the average person would think he strange. I have no problem with them.

It also turns out that this article made the yahoo front page as well. In a google search, 199 newspapers picked it up also today.

Well surely if they included that there are many anarchist in the movement we wouldn't be painted as wacky as "Doobie."
