View Full Version : How should we counter Moore's new movie?

We all know Michael Moore's views on Capitalism, and many know that he'll have a new movie called Capitalism: A Love Story.

Since the Revolution began, many young people like myself have done a complete 180 on Capitalism, and realized how much of a tard Moore is.

I really, really want to show him that the young people are no longer on his side, and his views are backwards. We should not let him highjack more sheep to his socialist cause.

I say the liberty-minded members who are also adept at making YouTube videos should be standing by to make a point-by-point refutation video immediately upon the release of Moore's propaganda. Use references from Mises.org, LRC, Austrian economists, etc.

"Umm, we weren't talking about Sicko...."

Yeah, and Stossel has millions of viewers anyway. You Tube seems like the best way to go from my position.

Moore would like people to think only old "Stupid White Men" or the greedy are against him. He should be made an example of. His base is gone, and his day in the sun is over.

While we are undoubtedly gaining momentum, his base is definitely NOT gone, especially in the young people. His movie will be adored by many people, undoubtedly, but many will also not buy into his bullshit. That's where we come in.

John Stossel WILL make an hour long special countering every point Moore makes, count on it. That's what the man does.

And I really like the idea to have lots of us make professional Youtube videos countering every single point made by Moore.

Hell, since we're all geniuses, we already know what he will say/what they always say:

Greed is awful. It brings out the worst in all of us. Because of greed, Wall Street did a bunch of shit blah blah blah and it screwed us all. All us working people are screwed because of greedy Wall Street.

Then we come in and as clearly and as convincingly as possible say:

Wall Street was greedy. And it's true the things they did screwed the rest of us. However, what you fail to mention is that government regulations, laws, and mandates gave Wall Street permission to screw us.

Wall Street can't speculate without the Federal Reserve (federal government) inflating the money supply and thus inflating artificial bubbles. The Wall Street firms that are screwing us have always been given the ok from all the regulatory agencies like the SEC (federal government). The Wall Street firms that are screwing us are encouraged to because the federal government gives them our money when they fail to be a sound, productive institution. The greedy, evil Wall Street firms will always be there because your federal government regulates the industry up the ass, preventing new banks from coming in and actually trying to give people a service they want.

The reason those 'greedy Wall Street assholes' screwed us all is not because capitalism failed. It's because capitalism hasn't had a chance to work in the financial industry for 100 years. Get the federal government out of the way, then we will have a financial industry to be proud of.

Would Moore be so damn fat if it weren't for the "free market"? I mean would there still be Mexican restaurants that he could clear out to fit his fat as into.

Bottom line, Michael Moore is a PWN.

Take a CLOSE look at COLUMBINE.
You will see the forest for the trees.

COLUMBINE MASSACRE-
did you know that SWAT killed students at Columbine?
Did you know that SEVERAL people claimed there was a "third" gun man?
did you know that the PARENTS of one of the victims of columbine wanted to bring charges towards SWAT?
I can go on...
Oh, and of course they were all on pharmies.
cute, huh.
I'll shut up now.

Point being= Michael Moore is there to whitewash- he is a tool.

SO: To answer your question: Telling people the truth is how we "Counter Michael Moore"

Depends on what he has to say in the film. We might even find ourselves agreeing with some of the criticism he raises. Though obviously, it should be shown the solution lies in the free market, not more socialism as he is likely to propose if the movie really is a bash capitalism fest. We should also try to turn the debate on its head by showing that most of the ills he's likely to bring up stem from state-sponsored corporatism, special interests wrecking government, and heaps of corporate welfare.

I don't think Moore is going to be as popular as he once was now that Bush is gone and the left is no longer energized as an "opposition" force. Still, Moore can't be dismissed out of hand because of his influence, and because he does occasionally raise legitimate points. "Sicko" did a good job of showing how horrible the status quo medical system really is in this country, but the socialized medicine solution he proposed was just ridiculous.

Don't give Moore what he wants: attention. Just ignore it. His movies are made for his sheep. They change no ones mind. They aren't important.

All of you already know how to counter the movie, sincere and honest explanation of the truth.

Edit: don't forget to have fun

I didn't even know he had a new movie until I read this thread. The effort to "counter" it will just give it more attention than it deserves.

There's this guy, that goes by the name of Ron Paul - have you heard of him? I heard he's been talking about the financial crisis and bubble bursting for awhile now. I heard he has a book out in September called "End the Fed." Let's give it a read, eh?
