Im sorry theres just NO WAY Paul is polling at 3% with this kind of support. He is seriously raising faster than edwards is.... This is nuts...

What would be really cool is if Ron Paul was the ONLY candidate to raise more this quarter than he did last.

I like how five lucky donors can win time building houses in New Orleans with John Edwards. Honestly, how can people not see through these "Hey, I'm one of you" folksy, populist ploys? Voters should be insulted.

This is awesome! Keep it up Paulites.

I'd donate more, but I've been spending the most of my available funds on chalk. I've done some serious chalkings around town.

The thing about those damn polls is that they are not accurate at all!!! They're a media ploy...and that's it.
The funny thing is, the media has been so focused on their old, out-of-date tactics/strategies, that they've missed the bus. They've already screwed themselves. Soon, the "young people" will be the adults--will be the focus groups of the media. The people who worship Faux News and the other "MSM" sources are on their way out (unless their change their motives).
WE are the new focus group. And so far, the old media is failing miserably at appealing to us and harnessing our attention.
Why?
Because they're showing their true colors. The tides are changing (for the better--I hope/believe) in America, and their bullshit no longer flies with the "majority."

Didn't people think it would be the same way after the Vietnam War?

Why not adopt one of Edwards idea...... hey even a socialist like Edwards can have one good idea in his life time. lol Dr. Pauls compain could do something like this. Anyone who donates to the Ron Paul compaign between now and Sept 30 will be entered to meet Ron Paul in person with up to 5 guest. No miniumum donation required. The more you donate the more chances you have of winning. Something like that. I bet he would raise a lot more. :D

I was thinking of something like that. Maybe even a 5 min. phone call. That wouldn't cost the campaign anything but 25 minutes or so.

Yup. John is at $421,000 and has a three day head start. If the pace continues we should easily catch and surpass him. He has $84,000 per day where we have appx $133,000 per day.

It seems like a good idea..... Why not charge $1000 a picture like Drop Dead Fred? Or make it $10,000 to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom?

It makes you look less like a man of the people! Ron Paul IS A MAN OF THE PEOPLE. He does not need your money to talk to you.

I guess (I wasn't there), but that's a bit beside the point (i.e., you're comparing two different time periods). Don't think that history continually resets itself--we don't go back in time.
Fact builds upon fact. People learn from the past. The Vietnam War era was a big step, but it didn't satiate.

Incremental developments, my friend.

We are much closer to realizing the true purpose of America, our Constitution, the meaning of Freedom, etc. than we ever have been before.

We learn from our mistakes.

And this new generation has had it with this fascist, control-hungry, evil government.

WE realize that the answer requires less government.
As far as I know, though, a lot of hippies (especially once they got older and "grew up") wanted the government to take care of them. At least, a lot of my friends from school have parents who were hippies, but who are now rich, Democrat, socialist ignoramuses! (i.e., sellouts!!!)

I think it is great that we are going to pass John Edwards' 10 day campaign with this 6 day campaign. And JE has a lot of wealthy lawyers supporting him, too!

The good debate performance probably helped Edwards with that surge. Our debate tomorrow won't be watched by as many people, but we might get a little bump. I anticipate that Dr. Paul will do as well as he usually does. Let's just keep doing our part, donating what we can, and reap the benefits. Edwards said today that he wouldn't commit to getting troops out of Iraq by 2013 so I will welcome his anti-war base to the Ron Paul campaign.

I think we could debate this. pbs watchers are exactly the type of people that will support Ron Paul. they are also the type of people that donate. Pbs is a channel that requires donations and those of us that enjoy it give because we know there isn't a whole lot else out there that compares. Pbs people are on average a smarter bunch then the nbc, cbs, abc or fox crowd. Now there's something that requires no debate.

I see. Thanks for the correction. The person that first mentioned the surge should have mentioned this information. Now I look like an idiot because I was wrong. So there goes my theory and my integrity. Anyway, I'm not disputing that the PBS audience isn't more intellegent. My argument was that it won't get as good of ratings as the one tonight did. The top tier candidates are out and it's on a Thursday night against huge network show premieres like The Office, Grey's Anatomy, and CSI. But I do think we can get a little bump from it if you can believe anything I say anymore after this whole surge fiasco. Onward and upward!

I checked before the debate; he was already at that number beforehand. However, that doesn't mean we can't reach him. ;) You're not an idiot.
