I think some of us that have been hanging around here for quite a while sometimes lose perspective of how far we've come. It is easy to get frustrated with the media or mainstream intellect's characterizations of Libertarian ideas. But in reflection of those early days, when dealing with accusations of racial prejudice or being "conspiracy minded" was a daily occurrence, it is nothing short of amazing that only 18 months later we are shaping the discussion of the true issues at the root of all other problems - central economic planning.
Between yesterday afternoon and this morning - about 20 hours - Ron has been plastered across the mainstream media. And while they haven't exactly "gotten religion" on why these issues are important, his popularity and presence are a small victory in itself.
I tried to show this perspective in a departure from my usual economic ramblings today: http://futronomics.blogspot.com/2009/07/ron-paul-mania.html
Enjoy!
PS - Remember that it took Andrew Jackson nearly a decade (for many reasons) to kill the Second Bank of America. Nothing happens in a straight line.
