Didn't break the Clintons. Didn't help them, but didn't break them either.

I see a repeat of history coming....1994 repeat...

Clinton took office in 1993 and shoved socialism down our throats hard. There was a backlash in 1994...tons of Republicans elected.

The Clinton agenda stalled...but nothing was rolled back as Gingrich and Dole steered the "revolution" leftward.

Obama will do his damage now...then be slightly crippled after 2010. But nothing will get rolled back and the "conservatives" will all go back to sleep after the "victories" of 2010.

It hurt them pretty bad and made a big difference in how the rest of Clinton's tenure turned out.

Must be bothering Obama, he referenced this - quoted it, actually - in a little statement outside some kid's hospital just now.

Hey folks, we seriously need to turn the tide on the comments on the above article. Don't make it a political appeal, just go to bat on the reasons why this health care overhaul is dangerous. I've done my part.

The Democrats are trying to form the media narrative. They want the story to be about Republicans opposing government healthcare just to make Obama look bad. They DON'T want the media narrative to be about Republicans opposing government healthcare because it's a bad idea. They don't want Americans to consider the possibility that government healthcare will lead to higher prices and lower standards of care.

Ultimately, I don't think this approach will win over independents. It will just strenghen the Democrats' base, who were going to vote for them anyway. So at the end of the day it's probably a non-story.

"Ultimately, I don't think this approach will win over independents."

Probably not. It just sounds like more of the two-party bickering.

That comment is completely lacking in any sort of historical perspective. Financial powers own America. Comparing Obama to Napoleon is idiocy. And this is nothing like Waterloo.

Actually, it makes complete sense. The Seventh Coalition stood up to French Empire in a battle that many thought they couldn't win. It's eerily similar to the predicament facing the moderate democrats and the republicans, in that Obama projects this aura of invincibility, given the influence he wields among the people and in the media. If they can somehow thwart him here, the moderates will have the courage to repel the advances of the Chicago thug syndicate.

Do you really believe that moderate Democrats and the Republicans are acting in the people interests? And they are anything but moderate. Fascist is the more correct description.

I'm not for state-run health care, but just because we're against Obama doesn't we should side with the republicans and moderate democrats. Most of those politicians are OWNED. They are not independent agents defending the rights of Americans.

Beggars can't be choosers at the moment. If they can keep this kook in check for the time being, it's good for America.

I guess so.

Is there even a chance of this bill not passing?
