On CNN in a few minutes, if you want to get a feel for the format Ron Paul will be facing.

So far it looks like they're giving more attention to the "frontrunners" :(.

Hillary Clinton said all the Republicans support the war... well we know she's wrong.

I saw that too. Richardson won't answer the question.

So far, the winner by far is Kuchinich.

Korey Kaczynski

I like Gravel as a person, but he rambles a little bit and it detracts a lot from his clarity.

Id rather it be Obama over HIllary in the primaries if for no other reason than i cant STAND her voice. Christ.

Agreed, but I think he's stumbling over himself because he has so much to say in so little time. CNN's not being very fair to him.

zMtLlC
06-03-2007, 05:36 PM
Did anyone notice how Gravel talked about Vietnam in relation to leaving Iraq basically taking that point from Paul?

Korey Kaczynski
06-03-2007, 05:38 PM
Gravel got a nice sound bite in.

hambone1982
06-03-2007, 05:42 PM
Kuchinich looks like the clear winner to me so far. He's being honest, making sense and he looks much more "Presidential" as compared to the rest of the candidates on the stage.

mdh
06-03-2007, 05:43 PM
Gravel is the Ron Paul of the Democrats. He's got a lot of socialist ideas compared to Dr. Paul, and otherwise has some different views, but he's very much like Dr. Paul in that he's alone on that stage, the only one who won't BS and lie.
Right off the bat, Hillary lied the first chance she got to speak by saying that every one of the Republicans who will be at the debate this week support and voted for the war in Iraq! We all know that's totally bogus, but she just said it.

wwycher
06-03-2007, 05:45 PM
I like the camera angles where you can see the other candidates. Man, what a bunch of socialists.

I did notice that Obama was taking pieces of Ron's foreign policy. They all tried to grab some of his Brillant thinking. But in the end they are all pandering for the illegal alien vote by pushing forgein language ballots. Problem is if you are a citizen and my wife became a citizen you have to be able to speak english. So their is no reason for the ballots to be in foreign languages other than to have illegal's vote They look for money when the government spends millions in foreign languages. The dem's are all about Socialism and the NAU not liberty or following the constitution. ITS REALLY HARD TO WATCH

Korey Kaczynski
06-03-2007, 05:51 PM
Yeah, Kuchinich just got a nice applause. He's doing the best by far.

re: Bill Clinton question

WTF? If Hillary wasn't involved, they wouldn't even ask such an asinine question. How is Bill Clinton a relevant issue?

MsDoodahs
06-03-2007, 05:58 PM
Is it me, or are the candidates getting more time to answer the questions this time?

xcalybur
06-03-2007, 05:59 PM
That was funny. Hilary just stated Ron Pauls stance on our place in the world. She said that we should be friends with other nations. Looks like the Dems are trying to beat the drum of Ron Paul.

Anyone else notice Edwards sudden respect for states rights when they asked him about gay marriage?

Razmear
06-03-2007, 06:08 PM
It looks like the positioning of the candidates on the stage is showing CNN's bias of who is a contender and who is not, with Gravel and Kuchinich at the far ends and Edwards/Clinton/Obama front and center.
It will be interesting to see where they put Ron on the stage for the Republican debate.
Also, they do seem to be ignoring Kuchinich, on the gas price question he was practically jumping up and down with his hand raised looking to answer the question, but instead they let Richardson spout off for about 3 minutes before the break.

Winner so far, thinking like a dem, (yeah it kinda hurts) is Edwards.

Anyone else notice Edwards sudden respect for states rights when they asked him about gay marriage?

I picked that up right away. It startled me. Id like to think that these guys are taking a page out of the Ron Paul playbook, what with edwards talking about states right, clinton talking about making friends with nations, etc. If nothing else, hopefully Paul's presence and popularity is changing the thoughts of some of the "major players" on both sides, even though if elected they would undoubtedly change their position to suit the situation.

TruePatriot44

This debate is pretty worthless.

However, John Stewart will have some nice sound bites about "gays being discharged" along with being gay or straight on what "hole" your in.

Richardson is a crook.

I think that Richardson has his hand in that ongoing trail where the chinese were
stealing Military secerets haven't really researched it been kinda busy pluggin Ron
but I read some where when he was sent to Korea for a month a couple of months ago he was seen with some of the company members who were involved
with recieving the military secrets and owns some business companies that has ties with them

wwycher
06-03-2007, 06:20 PM
I will have to check richardson out. I saw him on meet the press and heard the story about a mother of an Iraq war vet who died and her letter to Richardson, telling him to stop using her son's name and hers as well. He would not fess up to lying about conversations he never had with this woman. He was saying that she had thanked him for the benefits she was receiving.

I'm not clear on what the US national security interest is in Darfur?

Clinton bombed a plant in Sudan that was supposedly making nerve gas for UBL. Most people believe this was bad intelligence. He also bombed a terrorist camp in Afghanistan.

So far, the winner by far is Kuchinich.

Agreed. Dodd lost me when he said "this is a global economy". IMO, they all seem to be pretty ignorant of the big picture. Barrack Obama is too robotic, too smooth, and the waving of the hand thing really gets on my nerves. John Edwards had a hair out of place so he's out. Hillary is a windbag. That guy on the left seems like he going to pull out a gun any second. Go Democrats! :D

Got it.

MsDoodahs
06-03-2007, 06:50 PM
Obama defines rich as those making over 250K annually. Edwards defines it as those making over 200K annually.

I thought the audience chilled a bit at that point...

Also, why are only the big 3 getting questions from the audience? Wolf has asked Gravel and Kucinich questions...no audience questions.

angelatc
06-03-2007, 06:53 PM
I wish they would give each participant the same number of questions, regardless of where the question comes from.

Is anybody else watching it on CNN.com's pipeline? I would desperately love to see some of the techsavvier of us capture all 4 of those feeds. Watching the reactions from the New Hampshire participants appeals to me. They're reading comments from Pipelines "Your Voice" but I'll be darned if I can find that section. We should be sure we have that staffed for the Republican debate.

I thought Hillary had the most ludicrous remark of the night when she said that we 'did our job' in Iraq & that the current situation there is the Iraqis fault!!
What a crock of s#@t!!

I loved how Gravel called Hillary on stealing from Social Security to 'balance the budget'. That may be the first time that has been said on national TV.

I did like Hillary's line about sending Cheney to do diplomacy, though.:D

UtahApocalypse
06-03-2007, 07:39 PM
It scares me that I once was voting as a democrat. These people are just as bad as Bush & Co. The only ones that had any sense (and still not much) were Gravel, and K.

rg123
06-03-2007, 07:40 PM
but unfortunatly wolfie did not ask Hillary what do you have to say about using the people's ss to balance the budget and he wanted to shut Gravel up the whole debate was totally biased to richardson who cannot shut up and the other so called front runners and every single one of them stole a line from Ron the only man qualified to be the POTUS

A lot of time giving attention to the "frontrunner's"
Pre-scripted questions to help a candidate and dumb questions for the non frontrunner's.
Moderator:
Lets frontrunner's speak when it's not there turn but the non frontrunner's he cuts them off. Never lets a non front runner go beyond he's time limit.

In our debate this tuesday I will time each candidate on there time given.
It is my understanding the each candidate pays like $25k apiece and should get equal time to a degree.

Kuchinich looks like the clear winner to me!
