John Stossel and Penn Jillette were both on Glenn Beck at the same time just now. I only caught the tail end of it.

Can anyone who watched it give a quick recap? What did they talk about?

They mostly discussed Health Care.

good segment ... beck is a chameleon ... put libertarians as his guest and he is downright amazing ... put the typical fox pundits on and he is as annoying as anyone

that was the first fox news I've watched in months. Good segment. Thanks for sharing!:)

Glenn is making the slow but sure transition to libertarianism. He used to say "i'm becoming more and more libertarian every day." Now he calls himself one: "Look at us three libertarians on one show!" Anyway, great segment.

He called himself a libertarian right before calling Ron Paul a terrorist

What's the point of completely misleading comments like these?

He has never called Ron Paul a terrorist.

In the instance everyone refers to he criticizes some Ron Paul supporters decision to tie RP fund-raising in with Guy Fawkes day terrorism and the concept of a Money "Bomb." He then said he understands the disenfranchisement of RP with the status quo political process but urges caution to keep it non-violent or risk losing the moral high ground.

Plenty of people made similar criticisms on these very forums back then but no one claims these posters called Ron Paul a terrorist.

I'm not defending the segment in question, it was dumb, I agree ... but it was hardly calling RP a terrorist.

What's the link to Glen Becks' online videos? Doesn't he usually have them uploaded shortly after the broadcast?

I was flipping through the news channels waiting for my friend to arrive and I saw the last 3 seconds of it. I wish I saw it from the begining, no reason to watch the show after that segment.

Beck isn't becoming a libertarian.

It's a fucking script when no one is voting!

He is pandering to you.

Three months out from an election that matters do you think he is going to support the status quo? Consider that he has a multi million dollar contract with Fox News...

Our movement made it's biggest strategic blunder to date when our leadership did not vocally repudiate Beck's Teabagger takeover. We so totally lost legitimacy there in the public mind. All that work to distinguish ourselves from neocons gone almost overnight.

Of course, this is the same movement that fawned over Tucker Carlson when he showed up in a limo with a known pimp and literal whores to "represent the movement". It's that old GOP-phyllic residual attitude in the movement.

Unfortunately, the fact that our banner organization, C4L, is totally GOP is the sand in our craw: we can neither digest it nor spit it out.

He called Dr. Paul "The Mayor of CrazyTown" repeatedly during the campaign in order to discredit both RP and RP's supporters.

Good idea. For him, reading is good exercise for the lips. That'll help him keep in training for screaming like a bitch at his microphone.

Decide for yourself if he's calling us terrorists.

I say he is.

YouTube - Glenn Beck - Ron Paul - Terrorism? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg8M2JBIoqo&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eredpills%2Eorg%2F%3Fp%3D50 5&feature=player_embedded)

0:18 - (Beck): there is a growing domestic threat to the constitution
0:47 - (Beck): there are enemies among us. The physical threat is developing domestically as well
0:53 - (Beck): and this is how I got there. Ron Paul raised $4.3 million
1:02 - (Beck): his (Paul’s) supporters raised the money on Nov. 5 to commemorate Guy Fawkes
1:07 - (Beck): this guy (Guy Fawkes) was a British terrorist…
1:12 - (Beck): Paul’s supporters called the donations, “a money bomb”
1:30 - (Beck): the vast majority of Paul’s supporters take the metaphor as it should as a rally cry for the support of a political shift
1:38 - (Beck): it’s not the way I would go, tying in my campaign with a historical terrorist attack
1:44 - (Beck): I’m a libertarian at heart, I get it, raise money any way you want as long as you are not blowing other people up
1:54 - (Beck): but America, this is what you need to know tonight, Ron Paul supporters are tapping into something very real … the rising tide of disenfranchisement with our government and it’s coming from all sides of the political spectrum
2:20 - (Beck): if fringe elements take the disenfranchisement and turn it into violence then we endanger the freedoms we are all supposedly fighting for
2:52 - (Beck): Guy Fawkes is an old time Timothy McVeigh
3:31 - (Beck): he (Guy Fawkes) felt that no one was listening to him and that is how he ties in with today, he felt the government would not respond to him
3:46 - (Beck asking Sandys): don’t you sense that this is what is happening today in America and Great Britain
4:01 - (Sandys): Governments are promising a lot of thing and they are not delivering on them but no one is asking the people what they want, nobody cares
4:42 - (Horowitz): (goes on a rant about the old left, new left, secular left, Muslim radicals, and Democratic party leadership have fueled the fires of disenfranchisement)
5:40 - (Beck): it’s not just the left this time David (Horowitz) it’s also the right, and Ron Paul supporters are also the right
6:09 - (Horowitz): you’re right (of Beck) there is a strain of isolationism and anarchy in the American tradition which Ron Paul is tapping into. I think it is very significant that he chose Guy Fawkes as an image. There are unfortunately many libertarian web sites which unfortunately are indistinguishable from the anti-American left these days, LewRockwell.com and others like that, totally in bed with the Islamofascists and turn against this country.
6:56 - (Beck): America and Great Britain are being sold out as well, there is something just beneath the surface which is just washing everything away
7:41 - (Sandys): …there is a back lash to the Iraq war and what our governments have been telling us, there is a total loss of traditional values for continuing and finishing what we started
8:00 - (Beck): where am I wrong? The Ron Paul revolution is meant as a catchy slogan but I fear some of his fringe supporters are taking the word revolution to literally.

Anti-

I did not defend Beck's remarks about RP supporters, I said he did not call RP himself a terrorist as the poster I replied to claimed - which is undeniably true. Horowitz is as neocon as they come and I wouldn't think of playing devil's advocate with his statement that you bolded.

Ms Doodahs-

If you read the "crazy town" transcript (http://seeingredaz.wordpress.com/2007/10/29/michael-medved%E2%80%99s-open-letter-to-congressman-ron-paul/#comment-4375)(I couldn't find a video) Beck says:

"I mean, if you`re going to tell me that you`re going to abolish the FBI, OK, you`d better do it — you know, you`d better wrap that up in a nice, slick wrapper, you know? You`ve got to look like you actually can do that.

He`s got some pretty sane proposals. And if his fundraising is any indication, he has tapped into the frustration every American feels right now towards the dummies in Washington. But, unfortunately, no matter what he`s selling, for good or for ill, he ends up looking like the mayor of Crazy Town, and that seems to be a little problem. "

It sounds to me like he is criticizing the lack of political make up that most candidates put on their proposals to make them appealing to the masses, and as a result "he ends up looking like the mayor of crazy town."

I agree that such a comment is not helpful to our cause, but is it really that bad? Beck self deprecates himself all the time by calling himself crazy.

Yup, don't fall for this piece of shits spin. I don't see a deifference between Beck and the CIA front man Anderson Pooper on CNN!

He can't have it both ways... He is an asshole. He's been an asshole to the liberty movement all the way back to the 2008 campaign.
