Its about time they updated that thermometer. I know...it will probably be automated by tomorrow morning. No use getting impatient.

They might be holding off on showing realtime donations because that might prompt the other campaigns to find a way to boost numbers. Giuliani upon seeing this could probably grab tons of 2000 dollar donations within 4 days.
Showing it in segments will help it go under the competitor's radar screens. (Imagine if they saw it going up by 120,000 a day, real time like a telethon!) That is probably why the campaign staff is being vague to begin with.
Just a conjecture.
Lets just keep watching the updates and not get discouraged. .....ay..but the impatience!

I guess this could be true, but I doubt Rudy is going to be like "OMG Ron Paul is raising x dollars an hour, let's go to our donors and ask for more money!"
It's probably more likely they only wanna update when they have enough money to warrant a new number. If for some reason it's lagging for an hour or two, it wouldn't look that good. So they only update when they have a lot of money coming in.
Out of curiosity, I checked out a few of the other campaign websites to see if they were doing anything similar.
--Obama, Richardson, Edwards, and Kucinich have end of quarter fundraising pushes in the works this week.
--Richardson's donation meter is a hot pepper.
-- Biden has a donation meter for an ad to be aired in Iowa; I didn't notice one for end of quarter fundraising

Yay!!! That was a nice surprise after finishing homework. If I wasn't broke, I would donate right now. There is a 150 dollar donation in the works for the first week of October though.:)

I refreshed the page a few times; the 25 dollar donations are adding up fast.
1,000,000 X 25 is 25 million

Not to worry people - the campaign raised over a third of the money needed in less then a sixths of the time. If we raise money at half this rate for the entire remaining 5 days and 16 hours, we will still outdo Ron's goal by a wide, wide margin.

The live update feature is now working, but they keep cycling through the same 7-8 'Recent Donor' names, over and over. It doesn't look so good.
The countdown is off too, isn't it?
