I couldn't stand any of his books. I'm sure I was forced to read a couple in high school that I hated, but I generally hated reading when I was younger so I give him another shot in my 20s. Tried listening to 2 audiobooks while walking my dog (Old Man and the Sea and the one where he's riding in a boot in the beginning of the book). Both times I turned off my CD player before 30 to 45 minutes were up - I would have preferred sitting in a corner and staring at a blank wall that listening his works. Just my personal opinion though, you can like his works despite him being a KGB spy. Most entertainers, like rock stars for example, usually don't make for good role models but we take them for what they're worth

His short-stories are good.
