Smart people can have different perspectives on that. Waking up is more seeing everything, not necessarily advocating a certain solution. Like in Murray Rothbard's essay about hating the state.

Helicopter Ben and Heistner are wearing the same suits and ties, how lame.

On a side note, few people likely bother to think and answer questions like the one proposed above. Seems like a bunch of RPers answered, not wanting to be a downer though.

I am cynic. People will never learn.

You know, I come from Russia. I moved to the States when I was a teenager. Slightly less then 2 decades passed. One thing that I've learnt about America is that we got a Iron Curtain of sorts, too. Only it is much smarter and more wicked the the Soviet Iron Curtain was.

In USSR, people were curious about what happened outside of it. They just couldn't jump on a plane and fly there. You know, statis government and all.

Here, you can fly anywhere on Earth. Literally, any where. And you have all the access in the world to any information you want. But what good is the truth to a person whose eyes and ears are closed? What is the point to have a cyber universe at your fingertips available to you 24/7/365, if all you do is hook up with girlies on craiglist or surf porn?

The trick with the Soviet Iron Curtain was that if you wanted to know, you wouldn't be allowed find out.

The trick with the American Iron Curtain is that you can learn all you want, fly anywhere you want to, elect whoever you want to, but...... no one wants to. Why bother? There's Britney on one channel, Stone Cold Steve Austin on another, and Jerry Springer on a third one. And if it all gets too confusing, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh will quickly sort things out for you and make it all black and white simple.

The average Joe doesn't care. He votes for a nice tie, he reads nothing, he can name his favorite celebrity's most personal details but couldn't tell you who his local county's sheriff or state senator is to save his soul.

That's why this Curtain is more sinister than the Soviet one was.

My Answer:

NO it is not; and yes it is.

we are the "government"

Endless, useless layers of bureaucrats telling us what to do is not only wrong but unneeded

in the beginning there was ONE rule...now with men trying to dominate each other look how many "laws" there are.

to "protect us"

from what?
GOD KEEPS US SAFE NOT "elected" OFFICIALS

Do you want to be ruled by other men?

do you want ME telling YOU what to do?

we can share information and allow choices based on what we know.

but there are FAR too many regulations / rules that aren't even followed and only used as a revenue stream- do you speed, even on accident?

and they SUCK at their "job"

thats right "job", IT IS HOW THEY EAT, WE FEED THESE USELESS, UNPRODUCTIVE LEECHES!

WAKE UP

Be RESPONSIBLE

LEARN

LOVE each other

btw; this has been a fascist govt for a looooong time.

Any one man who knows GOD may through the spirt "rule" himself, and raise a family with those rules.
And can talk to his brother and rebuke him if he is wrong.

but we do not have the authority to tell each other what to do to the extent that happens now

I cant collect rainwater to raise vegetables?
do you really want to live like that?

do you really want to look like a blob because all you eat is pharmaceuticals, HFCS "sweetened" genetically modified food "created" and controle by Monsanto, and of course beer.

drink up america, but DO IT "responsibly"

we'll get rich off you and YOU can get fat & die

life is partly about choices.
I trust GOD to let me make those his choices for me, not some nobody thousands of miles away...sound like something we hears 233 years ago
