UPDATE (07/07): It appears that somewhere along the line there was some incorrect information being disseminated. On July 2nd, Judge Lamberth denied the presentments on procedural-type grounds (i.e., he did not rule on the merits of the issue). See http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?p=6588 for details.

Here's some important news on the Obama citizenship issue; you can see the last update I posted at http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=197559

Anyway, you may be aware of these citizen grand juries that have been convening and claiming to indict Obama. The indictment documents have been given to various legal authorities throughout the United States. See http://americangrandjury.org/ and http://www.riseupforamerica.com/ and http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?page_id=1518 (various articles)

I don't even know what to think of the legitimacy of these citizen grand juries. First of all, if any member on one is biased towards or, more likely, prejudicial against, Obama, then the indictment can't be valid on those grounds alone. But at least the good thing here is that it's showing that the people are aware of the issue and taking it to the government for redress of grievances.

So, last week a number of volunteers were in Washington D.C. serving their presentments to various authorities; see http://americangrandjury.org/update-on-washington-dc-trip-other-announcements-plus-super-jury-flyers (which incorrectly lists Ron Paul as a Senator; I wish).

Now, here's the big news. One of the presentments was served to the Honorable Royce Lamberth, the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. See http://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/lamberth-bio.html for his biography and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Royce_C._Lamberth&oldid=277205120 for his Wikipedia (which I hate citing) entry.

He's a Reagan appointee and apparently is a maverick conservative who went after Clinton and may have also made things difficult for Bush (the 2nd): http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1316/is_4_34/ai_85107348/ and http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2008/01/hillarys-hero-judge-royce-lamberth

According to http://www.patriotsheartnetwork.net/forum/topics/grand-jury-indictments-will-be as of this morning the report is that Judge Lamberth (who is inaccurately called the chief magistrate judge; he's the chief district judge) is going to give the citizen grand jury presentment(s) a case number and rule on it/them. Now, as far as I know I didn't think a judge could do something like that unless someone actually brought a case before him, but then again I'm not a lawyer.

Assuming this new report is correct, here we have the highest-ranking judge in the lower federal court in Washington D.C. who is going to consider Obama's Constitutional eligibility to be president. If anyone wants to write him, the address is:

The Honorable Chief Judge Royce C. Lamberth
U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia
333 Constitution Avenue, N.W.
Washington, DC 20001

Reformatted address; originally taken from http://www.dcd.uscourts.gov/feedback.html

Remember that mail going into Washington D.C. gets seriously delayed, so you may want to send it via Priority Mail (no need to spend a bunch of money doing it via Express Mail, unless of course you want to) to get it there quickly.

What should you say? Basically just encourage him to do all legally within his power to give the matter a fair hearing and trial. Talk about the immense Constitutional importance of the issue. Discuss how we the people are tired of having our petitions for redress of grievances ignored. Remember that judges are not politicians, and be careful that you don't make unfounded accusations. Be respectful and focus on the Constitutional rule of law.

Update posted. It appears that this isn't going to happen.
