What a loser. He doesn't seem very motivated to win the hearts of the people.

Newt has as much chance of winning as Donald Rumsfeld would.

What happens if Gingrich does not get $30 million, but instead, say $10 million, and decides not to run? What happens to the $10 million he's collected but hasn't spent? Can he buy a mansion and a yacht for himself with the $10 million, or is there some legal restriction on what he can do with money collected for a campaign which has never been spent?

He's looking for $30 million in pledges, not the actual money. The way it works is the movers and shakers "bundle" pledges of the 2300. Then they report to the campaign. " Hi newt, I have bundled a thousand pledges for you" = $250,000 oh by the way my daughter is in need of a 60,000 summer intern job with your campaign. That's why we must get Dr. Paul elected this cycle has got to stop. Ann

From what I heard on the news yesterday, he has already gotten the $30million in pledges, so they were saying he would run. Of course, I live in Newt's district, and they may have been overly optimistic on these news channels.

The guy is too obsessed with his ego. No one will give him that much money.

Gingrich is a fat fraud. He's being put up to this by his masters at Fox News. Rupert Murdoch sees Rudy having problems with the base and he's hedging his bets. That's why Newt has been savaging the entire Republican field, but saying nice things about Fraudy Giuliani.

I watch these things closely. If Newtie gets in, Rudy will move to the back burner because Rupert doesn't want to dilute his support. But if Rudy seems to be able to appeal to the base better than he has been, then Newt won't get in or will step aside.

Is this because Fred has turned out to be a miserable failure?
