Polls show most Canadians like their free health care, but most people aren't sick when the poll-taker calls.

I liked that line. :)

Also, Stossel links to a damning report about the wait times in Canadian hospitals. Want a knee replacement, so you can walk up the stairs? Fine, just wait five months!

Why should there be free healthcare? Next thing you'll here cries for free auto insurance by losers that can't cope.

I couldn't stand living in Canada, where we were BY LAW forbidden from paying out of pocket for medical care...I remember when I had to go to the hospital, my parents thought about driving an hour south to Seattle to the doctor. Even with the drive and all, I would have seen a doctor quicker than waiting around in the ER in Vancouver...

"Free" healthcare does not exist. Universal healthcare does not exist. Rationed healtcare does.

Have you seen those commercials for "Mogi"?

The technician talks about how much the repair is going to cost, and the guy's like, "Don't worry about it! I've got Mogi!"

After living thru WWII and making it to near 90, my Oma who lives in Germany has taken ill, no need for sympathy or condolences but she had pre-planned for this moment and had made arrangements for a room at a very nice "Old Folks Home", problem is there is now (30 years later) a 2-3 month waiting period at the earliest. My sister was told possibly 6 months until an opening appears.

So who wants that European model of healthcare in America?

Anyway my Mother flies over on Saturday for an extended vacation of sorts to work this out or make arrangements for the funeral, whichever is easier for everyone.
