That absolutely sucks and I'm very sorry to hear. I've been a statistic since December and its tough out here.

I will be toast job wise by the end of the year. I am 55 and live in one of the most depressed areas of the country. What I want to do is take what I can salvage from my retirement and buy 15 acres in the boondocks and put up a mobile home and get out of this whole mess. I had my shot at life and blew it.

It defantly sucks.I was laid of for 6 months till i had to find any job i could get since my unemployement was about to run out.I found a job working on a farm making almost 5 dollars less on the hour than what i was, plus i get no benefits or paid vacation or sick time and because there a farming company i dont even get paid time and a half on over time.

It would be interesting to see how many people on the forums have been laid off.

Temp positions, in some areas, pay more than what one makes in a permanent position. They also get your foot in the door at some good companies, which might be looking to hire in the future. It's a good option.

Do everything in your power to work for yourself. If not now, then asap. It's much better than working for the man. Eliminate your debt, save and invest wisely. Get off the grid as much as possible.
