I don't drink alcohol or have a cell phone (and I'm old enough to legally drink). So how would I answer that survey? lol

What does that say, 40% of respondents are alcoholics?

It could just mean that they don't like talking on phones

I would give up alcohol. I need my phone. In fact, I am replying to this thread from my phone.

Y is this even remotely suprising?

My cell phone is the only phone I own.

Lets see do you want to give up being drunk an unhealthy or do you want to give up having the ability to contact anyone in the world in the palm of your hand?

It said "alcohol," not "being drunk and unhealthy;" between which two there is a large and significant difference.

Secondly

or do you want to give up having the ability to contact anyone in the world in the palm of your hand?
...and vice versa. At times I'd prefer not to be in the palm of the world's proverbial hand.

THIS is why I dumped my cell phone. Now the only number I have is Google Voice and that rings through to my free Gizmo number. I can make and take calls, I can get voicemail, text messaging. All of it's free...

The best part? If I'm not at my computer, I don't have to worry about someone interrupting me. It took a while, but now the people who used to call me three or four times a day just because they could now call less frequently, but with important issues.

And as for the alcohol, yeah. I'm gonna keep that. :D

I dislike phones, I have one just for emergencies and for if I apply for a job. Giving it up for a week would just be going about my normal routine. I just don't see the appeal, if I want to talk to someone then I prefer person.

I have a cheap cellphone and I only use it when necessary. I know people ( mostly girls ) that couldnt go 10 minutes without talking or texting. Its disgusting. Ive even seen people trying to text while driving.
