which I quote:

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers. The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 percent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US, than you are in Iraq . Conclusion: The US should pull out of Washington ."

Note that explosives, RPG's, machine guns and hand grenades are readily available in Iraq...

Be that as it may, the vast majority of those guys would not have been killed had they not been in Iraq. However, I agree with his conclusion that we should withdraw from and burn the festering cesspit known as Washington, DC to the ground.

Not that I ideologically disagree but how are they getting a rate of 60 per 100,000? Isn't murder rate annual?

presume it's an average balanced out to per month. As they used 22 months instead of 24, there is obviously some bias to get a slightly better number in the result - but still...
