Seems that Romney and his supporters are prepping for 2012. I feel we need to start rolling with our own as well. I wish Ron Paul would annouce soon so we can "offically" start dropping bombs and raising money for the long road in 2012.

i am so sick and disgusted with the comments i get from GOP/neocon hacks on internet sites. It seems to me that most of the gop stooges still haven't learned their lesson. We MUST have a Liberty candidate in 2012 and we MUST raise a shit ton of cash for him. I promise to max out my donation.

Backing Romney would be a brilliant move by the GOP. The utter self destruction of the Republican party would leave the Democrats (basically) unopposed. The dichotomy of passing bullshit in order to counter the bullshit of the other party would collapse and we would witness the end of the Democrats in our lifetime.
Without the Republicans to fight, what possible reason would the Democrats have to exist? Democrats would fail, meaning Republican win.

If Obama's doing well enough during the mid-term elections they may Bob Dole him. If he's doing enough for the party. Giving him the candidacy, knowing he won't win.

Kinda like McCain?
Romney was on Meet the Press this week. The host was asking him questions about the future of Mark Sanford's political career, and Romney somehow managed to twist his answer into a speech about how much he hates gay marriage. I kid you not. Of course, he didn't actually phrase it as "I hate gay marriage". That would be too honest for a politican like him. Instead he talked about how much he loves straight marriage, but the message was clear.

Looks like someone's trying to show Christians how his mormon faith is a good thing, and not a crutch...they both hates them some queers.

I know a lot of Mormons and I usually don't encounter very many who "hate" anything. They will firmly tell you their views on homosexuality, but as a group in general, Mormons are quite forgiving and generous.
One exception to this that I know of personally is my mother's extreme dislike for Obama. Man, I never knew my mom knew THOSE words. :)
I am not Mormon but my mother is and I grew up going to the Mormon church.

The thought of having to listen to another primary season of debates with Romney is enough to make me sick.
Mitt would turn the GOP into a permanent minority party, then we could make our move. It would be the liberty party vs the democrats.

Maybe, but as groups go, it's also hard to find one that mainstream Christians hate more than Mormons. It's not even a crutch, it's a serious liability.
The number of Christians who can see past Mormon PR, yet can't see past the Republican Party PR, is probably the majority. Tell them God says it's ok to bomb brown people, and they're going to believe it. If they find out you deny the trinity, you have a problem.

The term "marriage" is between a man and a woman. If two people want to have some form of legal agreement there is in most cases nothing preventing that. The issue is really over healthcare and income tax favoritism for married couples. Romney or another Republican candidate could get around this hot potato by not violating the term marriage but allow any two people to enter into legal agreements for healthcare and income tax purposes.
Even if Romney or some other Republican candidate attempts that the left and Dems will portray no matter what they do as being anti-gay or racist. They will continue to insist the term marriage be changed into something it is not.
I am single and are continually at a disadvantage because I am not married. Gays and married couples should not be provided more rights than what I have.

lol...Well, I suppose that depends on who opposes him? Does our messiah have enough gas for a second nomination against Hillary? and is Dr Paul throwing his hat into the ring?
Still, I'd like to see us get someone in early so we can organize, organize, organize, and yes $$$$ too.

Let me fix your statement for you: Mitt "I love vetoes" Romney...he hates mandates so I don't know where that comes from. He's said time and again mandates are the worst part of the health care plan in Massechusetts.
Obama will end up like jimmy carter unless the economy some how shapes up. We have under 4 years to convince all rational people to vote libertarian.

Yeah, right. Romney Care requires individuals in MA to obtain health insurance or face tax penalties. That's a mandate and he's responsible for it.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see Romney come out in favor of Obama's health care "plan". All the big-government types seem to stick together.

Romney can't win. Period. He might win the nomination but he simply cannot win the general. The "Ron Paul Wing" of the GOP is too big now. And it's growing rapidly. And that wing will withhold their votes from a candidate like Romney in the general election. He'll get his ass kicked just like McCain. He could try to say he's "seen the light" and could take on the Ron Paul platform. But his credibility would be highly suspect. The Ron Paul voters wouldn't go for it. However, as a side note, I think maybe one of these national level mainstream candidates could actually try a coup against the establishment if they were indeed sincere. Such a candidate would have to preach most all of the Ron Paul platform and be very very concise and adamant about their positions and go heavily on the record with them. Real specific, like "I will veto EVERY budget that has a deficit. I will issue an executive order to not enforce the patriot act. I will issue an executive order for the treasury to refund all tax withholdings pending an audit of the ratification of the 16th amendment. I will bring all of our troops home by March 2013. I will issue an executive order to the treasury to mint gold and silver coins." Etc. etc. etc.

If there is a bigger POS in the world than Romney I've never seen it. I always found him repulsive, but I didn't really hate his guts until I heard him on the radio show making fun of Ron Paul - a man Romney is not fit to breath the same air as and the only person who defended Romney when he was attacked for his asinine religion. I'm not real big on any religions, but the Mormons are near the top of idiot religions. No offense to my God fearing friends.

Notice how many shows now have "future of the GOP" segments? Romney seemed to be quite pleased about the disgrace of Sanford... They knew that Sanford was his primary opposition in the GOP.

"Health care: Mitt's Mass. mess might make 2012 tough"
http://blog.nj.com/njv_paul_mulshine/2009/07/health_care_mitts_mass_mess_mi.html
The Massachusetts plan has two features prominent with liberal reformers: Community rating and guaranteed issue. Community rating means that everyone - sick and healthy, young and old - is thrown into the same pool and sold coverage at the same rate.
This is of course a great deal for older, sicker people and a horrible deal for younger, healthier people. Imagine a kid fresh out of college who makes $500 a week paying $200 a week for health insurance.
Meanwhile for someone who's older and already has a health condition, that same $200 a week is a bargain. And thanks to guaranteed issue, the insurers have to sell that person a policy. That's the problem that the Massachusetts plan was supposed to solve. According to the editorial, here's what happened:
"Mr. Romney argued -- as Democrats are arguing now -- that the individual mandate would make that problem disappear, since everyone is always supposed to be covered.
"Well, the returns are rolling in, and a useful case study comes from the community-based health plan Harvard-Pilgrim. CEO Charlie Baker reports that his company has seen an 'astonishing' uptick in people buying coverage for a few months at a time, running up high medical bills, and then dumping the policy after treatment is completed and paid for."
That's the price you pay for compromising with liberals in the hope of achieving "progress." And that's one mistake Romney made and Ron Paul never will.
