We need a group that focuses on spreading Paul's message to the military, and to the public that the military supports Ron Paul because Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who supports the military.

http://www.military4paul.com

I found this site, and I sent an e-mail to the author recommending a few changes/additions:
- Include the USA Today/ABC News article about Paul receiving more military donations than any other Republican presidential candidate
- Include the Reagan quote about Paul, a picture of Paul in uniform, and the fact that he's a military veteran himself
-Include the content from this site:
http://www.ronpaulforcongress.com/html/veterans.html
-Verify the military members that sign the declaration with their military e-mail address or via other method and place a checkmark by the verified signatures/highlight them
-Include a store where people can buy "Military for Paul" bumper stickers, yard signs, etc with half the profit going to his campaign and half going to keep the site running

Here's a simple Military for Paul bumper sticker I made up in 30 seconds. We should order these in bulk (or similar ones) and distribute them to service members and their families who support Paul. I'm Army Guard and I'll be the FIRST to put it on my car and motorcycle. There are no restrictions for reservists and guardsmen actively supporting a candidate... I believe there are some for active duty... But the reserve components compose MORE THAN HALF of the soldiers fighting overseas. In fact, at one point the Guard alone composed nearly half of all the U.S. service members in Iraq. This would be a good demographic to target. You can see the more you buy, the less they are.

Anyone think something like this would be worthwhile?

I think this is a great idea, and throw it in the face of the neo-con talk radio folks.

I donated to his congressional campaign twice while serving in the Coast Guard. :) He had support in the military even before throwing his hat in the ring for President.

Don't misquote Reagan, thats very low.

Maybe educate yourself...

"Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country!"

- Ronald Reagan

Link please. The source needs to be available in case opponents try to call it a lie.

I've read that quote before, I apologize, I just didn't recognize it cut off. I still don't think its a good idea, I won't be the only one to have the same reaction unless you can somehow get the entire quote in there.

You don't have to put an entire quote anywhere in order for it to be valid. Especially when it's impractical and impossible, such as when it's on a bumper sticker. When Bush gives an hour long speech, does the news media replay the whole thing? No. They make 20 word soundbites out of it...

Dr. Paul's advertisements attack Mr. Laughlin for voting for tax increases and taking junkets, but his most innovative salesmanship is a 15-minute videotape he has sent to 30,000 households.

It quotes Mr. Reagan as saying: "Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country."

So apparently Dr. Paul believes this quote is valid. I trust him.

I understand that you can't put the entire quote there, I just get the feeling I won't be the only one who assumed it was made up. It's not hard to think that if you see the brackets.
I'm not saying the quote is invalid, I'm saying people will think it was just made up.

As a military member, allow me to say that there are very strict limitations as to what we can do politically. We cannot speak at public rallies, we cannot attend rallies in uniform, we cannot write things in favor of any political candidate, etc. I wouldn't risk putting a bumper sticker on my vehicle that attempts to portray any sort of official military support for Ron Paul.

We are allowed to have a regular bumper sticker on our private vehicles though. :)

Do you have the AR for not speaking at political rallies in civies? I know that you can't do anything political at all while in uniform or trying to represent the military.

4.1.2.3. Participate in partisan political management, campaigns, or conventions (unless attending a convention as a spectator when not in uniform).

I guess it would depend on what the definition of "Participate" is. :D
