Finally Nick Joe Rahall-WVa voted NO on this. He rarely crosses over to vote with Republicans.
Emails and phone calls must have gotten to him.

Well, actually we need coal for 97 percent of our power. He must have voted his pocketbook. :D

Now what will Rockefeller and Byrd do? :D

What is up with Flake? He did not vote.

I think you're being too kind.

Those 219 need to be kicked out of the COUNTRY. Traitors to the people, each and every one.

This should be brought in just for them:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostracism

This is worse in many ways than the bailout; this is ensuring wholesale robbery from the American people for generations to come, as well as helping along with the destruction of American sovereignty.

Just said the same thing. This bill was a complete disgrace. What they just did is formally without doubt sent a bill to the Senate to offically change the name of the U.S.A to the U.S.S.A.

But which 4? They're all interchangeable so it doesn't really matter. They ALL ultimately ensured this bill would pass.

On to the Senate now I guess. Not that I expect the results to be any better but we gotta try.

I'm sure that Arlen Specter will stand ready to usher them into the DNC with open arms.

The only difference between the RNC and the DNC is the first letter of the acronym anyway. Just because the Republicans made a show for the cameras in resisting this doesn't mean that they are acting in our best interests all the time.

...and dumped in the swamp of dirty socialism that is the EU. These guys are truly ruining this country. The worst part about this bill is that all the extra taxes (mostly hidden in 1200 pages) will go into effect, but we will not have a cleaner environment and will barely see any new development of alternative energies. Ugh!

My rep, Chris Carney (D), voted against it...thankfully. Time to e-mail Specter and Casey. I'm sure they'll listen.

yes, absolutely outrageous. It's already insane that our business, through city code, is only allowed to have 50sq. ft. of 'signage' which also includes 'lettering' and window signs. Now we're bound to have even more infringement on property rights by a group of gangsters in DC.

i'm embarassed.

i called and emailed and asked my neighbors, friends and relatives in Reichert's district to call or email Sherrif Dave until he finally cosigned H.R. 1207. when i saw that the LD Chairman had sent out a note asking everyone to contact him i figured i could propably sit this one out... i.e. Dave Reichert can figure this one out on his own.

lets get this straight: the initial bailout passed by much less than the number of Rs that voted for it, and cap-n-trade passes by less than the number of Rs that voted for it. does this tell us anything?

I was just through Redmond a week ago, and I noticed a huge amount of new wind mills going up in that area. Does your congressmen think he is going to get a bunch of federal money for his district because of the green power?

I noticed one of the other republicans that voted for it is in the CA high desert so I wonder if she thinks she is getting federal money for solar plants and wind generators?

I think everyone needs to calm down a bit. yes this disgusting bill will do much harm to the US and these republicans, and any other congressmen for that matter should be ashamed for voting for it... however, before we start sending out hate mail lets think for a moment.... what will such mail accomplish? the votes been taken, its over. However, many of these congressmen are cosponsor of 1207... now do we really want to ostracise them, so much so that they may double geuss their inniatioal support for the audit... i mean if they get a lot of hate mail from us they might as well turn their backs on us. So please, keep the letters civil, show your dissapointment, but please dont be assh0les about it.

Probably because they're stuck in the Matrix. I don't understand the surprise, myself.

after the bailout vote, with more wholesale citizen outrage presented than any other vote I remember save maybe the amnesty vote, this one was no surprise to most of us at all.

It continues to be sickening, it's obvious that the people up there have to go, and we must fight on, remembering these moments when it comes to primary and election time.
