How very convenient, Farrah Faucet, Michael Jackson etc. die and now all of the stuff they don't want the public to be focused on can go through Congress and the Senate without anybody saying a word about it. If I didn't know any better, I would think it was planned that way.

CSPAN is interviewing Goode from CongressDaily, talking about the 'BlueDog 11'. New critters who have yet to be 'converted'... by Pelosi, O'Bama and Gore.

Where are the wiretaps by the feds to uncover corruption?

You're exactly right. I made that very same comment to my wife last night, just as soon as I heard the news about Jackson. It's classic misdirection technique - we'll be lucky to hear three words about the Cap and Trade vote... dammit dammit dammit!!:mad:

If it wasn't Michael Jackson's death, it would have just been something else. I'm sure that this bill, despite its relevance, was low on the docket for being talked about in general.

I was just watchign Stuart Varney on Fox Biz for the last hour, and he talked about it for awhile. One thing he said that stood out to me was that New Zealand passed a cap and trade bill and they just got rid of it because it is a huge burden on their economy--or maybe he said there is a big push in NZ to get rid of it...can't remember which one it was..

I agree. If Micheal Jackson didn't die the media would be reporting more on Farrah Faucet's death. Micheal Jackson was the bigger star so he gets way more coverage. It makes me feel bad for Farrah. But yes, I would prefer to hear more about the Cap and Trade bill than any of this.

Exactly, I don't understand the outrage. The media wasn't going to put the proper focus on it. Hell even on Faux, you would have been treated to O Riley and Hannity spewing about their typical crap.

Not only are they covering a dead celebrity, they are covering a dead celebrity who is 500 million dollars in debt who obviously has a terrible self-image and does stunts with his babies for publicity. Not to mention that shit he pulled with Paul McCartney to basically "steal" the rights of the Beatles' songs away from him.. Just exactly the kind of person we need to be promoting at a time when Congress is throwing the country into even more debt to look good for their peers while they steal more money from Americans. Just doesn't seem like a great guy to me, no matter how "great" he once was. The media, though, is just giving people what they want. Americans need to stop being completely stupid and buying into hype over tiny things. How come there isn't this coverage every time a troop dies (ask Montel)? This is always the case. We shouldn't be surprised.

Troops, Michael Jackson, etc deserve the same kind of coverage as the folks you see in the obituaries of your local newspaper. No need to discriminate among the deceased.

I just realized something that should have been obvious to me yesterday. The question that bothered me so much was why the emphasis on mj. Obviously are culture is a bunch of sheep, so naturally there was going to be a lot of coverage. This still doesn't explain why news agencies like msnbc were not reporting on the bill. Then it hit me. Who owns msnbc and nbc? GE GE GE GE GE GE GE! These are the thugs that are banking on the climate bill to pass. They have allready invested in whole divisions in carbon offset business that would be worthless without the passage of the bill. These guys are complete pieces of garbage. No wonder we didn't hear anything about the climate change bill.

Seems there might be some food for the tinfoil crowd to eat.

http://new.music.yahoo.com/michael-jackson/news/jesse-jackson-family-wants-2nd-autopsy--61990644

Michael Jackson's family wants a private autopsy of the pop icon because of unanswered questions about how he died and the doctor who was with him, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday.
"It's abnormal. He couldn't be found," he told The Associated Press from Chicago a day after visiting the Jackson family. "We don't know what happened. Was he injected and with what? All reasonable doubt should be addressed."

Some doctor that has now disappeared was injecting MJ with stuff? The timing certainly is interesting and made one hell of a huge distraction away from probably the worst legislation ever passed.

My signature statement of late, seems again to apply: At a time where there is little or no transparency in government, and extensively documented government influence over the media, the most reasonable default stance to take (in general) is to presume government/elite orchestration of events and reporting, until proven otherwise.

GOP Offers ‘Michael Jackson’ Cap & Trade Alternative
by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 22 Comments · ShareThis · Print This Story Print This Story

(2009-06-27) — Senate Republicans today introduced an “innovative alternative” to the 1,300-page cap-and-trade climate change bill which passed the House 219-212 virtually-unread Friday night as the nation sat transfixed by wall-to-wall coverage of the death of an iconic pop singer.

Supporters said the GOP-sponsored ‘Michael Jackson Energy Act’ will clear away a raft of environmental regulations that currently discourage construction of nuclear power plants, and will spark energy independence while reducing emissions of so-called greenhouse gases.

The 1,897-page Michael Jackson Energy bill includes more than a thousand pages of uninformed speculation about the cause of the performer’s death, gossip about the nature of his relationships with various adults and children, along with sweeping statements about his impact on the history of the world.

The bill includes a DVD tribute to Mr. Jackson, as well as dozens of before-and-after photos of his various bouts with cosmetic surgery. In addition, to a full-length foldout ‘Thriller’ poster, the bill contains several pages of language removing government-imposed barriers to the growth of a thriving private-sector nuclear energy industry.

“Although the substantive bipartisan opposition to the House cap-and-trade bill failed to capture the nation’s attention,” said Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-KY, “we’ve learned from our mistakes, and know how to present our alternative legislation in a way that will matter to the mainstream media.”
