RON PAUL: BYPASSES McCAIN

The other surprise (but we shouldn't be surprised anymore) is Ron Paul's standing. He surpassed John McCain for the first time ever. We do not regard bypassing John McCain as a major achievement in itself- McCain's ship has been sinking for weeks. But Paul crossed 6% this week, an indication he's making an impact in this race. It's one thing to hang out at 3% (like Mike Huckabee or Newt Gingrich. So befitting his fourth place standing among Republican, we'll bump Paul to the top tier of our Republican candidate roll on the right.

Folks this is a highly respected professional in the political world blogging here. His blog is widely read on the hill and K street. This is the beginning of the acknowledgment of Top Tier status.

It's best to goto the main site so you can see the "top tier" list. RP is on it.

According to the website RP is that political giant that straddles top tier and second tier.

I'm guessing they come from here because this is the only place where Paul is up to 6%. Click on 2008 US Election to look at the numbers.

Tancredo isn't on their list at all. And why is Vilsack on there? I'm not going to dispute that Ron Paul is top tier -- he's been coming in first through third in all the straw polls -- but may question whether this blog is on par with Electablog or National Review (bad example).

Agreed. Ron Paul IS in the top tier. His straw poll finishes validate that. He should have a decent amount of money after this quarter,, and how much is all of our UNPAID support worth?

I doubt that this blog is as popular and respected as you're making it out to be. I mean, just judging by his list of candidates, he's not very up to date. He has Gingrich and Hagel listed as candidates, even though neither is close to entering the race. He also still has Vilsack on the list, and Vilsack was the first candidate to drop - six months ago. He's also missing Kucinich and Gravel, as well as a horde of Republican also rans (I don't see Gilmore and Thompson in the "Fallen" sidebar, either).
