Proposed Law Allows AG Holder to Block Gun Sales to Over a Million Americans

New Jersey Democrat senator Frank R. Lautenberg plans to introduce legislation designed to cancel the Second Amend rights of well over a million U.S. citizens this coming week, according to the New York Times. “Mr. Lautenberg plans to introduce legislation on Monday that would give the attorney general the discretion to block gun sales to people on terror watch lists,” the newspaper reports.

On Terrorist Watch List, but Allowed to Buy Guns

The new statistics, compiled in a report from the Government Accountability Office that is scheduled for public release next week, draw attention to an odd divergence in federal law: people placed on the government’s terrorist watch list can be stopped from getting on a plane or getting a visa, but they cannot be stopped from buying a gun.

Now, people, listen up and listen up good...

This is the end, no hyperbole and no bullshit.

I don't care if you are a gun owner or not, that has nothing to do with it.

It has everything to do with establishing a precedent that marks the "for real", no fucking around, end to the United States as we know it.

When and if this passes, it will establish, in law, the concept that, simply by being placed on a "list", a list that you are not allowed to know if you are on it, you are not allowed to know who else is on it, a list that you can be placed on with no judicial review whatsoever and are not allowed to know how to remove yourself from, that by virtue of being "listed" you can have a fundamental right stripped away from you, this marks the end.

The question is, what the fuck do we do if it passes? Telling the media isn't gonna help.

I've got a hunch that Lautenberg will pull the same stunt that he did with his "Domestic Violence" gun confiscation scheme,
that is to hide it deep within a bundle of other bills with an innocuous sounding name.

If we wish to be free-- if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I have not flown since 9/11 and I will be flying to DC next month for the YAL National Convention.

Got to agree, AF. What's next?

"Well, if you're a suspected criminal, why should you have the right to speak your mind? You obviously have criminal intent, so why afford you the same rights of free speech as decent, law-abiding people?"

"You gave up your rights not to be searched when the government suspected you of being an extremist."

"You have been placed on the Dangerous Extremist list for speaking out against the State. You are hereby placed into mandatory confinement in the nearest State rehabilitation facility until it is proven that you have cleansed yourself of dissident thoughts."

The more people sit and take this, the more the government will be able to get away with, until you'll see people shot in the street for daring to criticise state officials.

ARGHHHH:mad: I don't even know how to respond to this right now.

I don't think it will end until law-abiding Americans, and by law-abiding I mean followers of the Constitution, in great numbers show up and escort, and by escort I mean kick to the curb, these bums out of the hallowed halls of our founders.

I take this news pretty much as I take any news out of Washington of late...unbelievable, yet somehow not wholly unexpected.

If you are asking my opinion, here it is:

There are three approaches one could take.
1. Political activity to try to turn the tide, as we are now doing, and in my view will be just as effective as it has been in the past.
2. Actual resistance leading to arrests and court cases in an attempt to force reform via the legal system.
3. De facto secession of one or more states or multiple counties populated by the liberty loving faction of the population. At that point the Feds have to decide how bad they want to try to regain control. Or, return to a true federal system.

I'm thinking we are headed toward curtain #3, with probable candidates Montana, New Hampshire, Wyoming, Alaska, and some rural counties in the west Texas, Idaho, Nevada region.

What Negotiate Rights Away will do is make a big public noise about how opposed they are to this, and then, quietly, in the back rooms, will cut a deal.

They'll come back to their membership and say "Hey, you guys should be glad we are working so hard for you, if it wasn't for our tireless efforts, the Lautenberg "No Fly/No Gun" legislation would have been much worse."

Option One is "whacking the mole" yet again.

I'm inclined to think that this is so "over the top", that so much noise will be generated, it will get shot down in it's current form.

Only to come back again in a month or two, under a different heading and sponsor.

Option Two I regard as yet another form of whacking the mole.

In addition to the (not insignificant) problem of "who goes first".

To steal a quote from LA Truth: "No one will dance until the first man boogies".

Option Three is, honestly, the only real option left.

Break it up and put it back in the tyrant's court.

Let's see if they got the minerals.

Krippy, I would suggest showing up a *minimum* of two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. I know that's a pain in the.... but unfortunately that's the way things are right now.

I see you're a fellow Hoosier. I don't know what airport you're flying from, but last time I flew out of O'Hare, the security lines were backed up with a 2+ hour wait. Lucky for me I had arrived almost four hours early. Indianapolis usually isn't so bad unless it's a holiday weekend or something. I can't comment on Fort Wayne, having never flown out of there myself.

One more thing - see if the airline you're flying allows "online" early check-in. Some airlines let you check in via the internet up to 24 hours in advance, and you can print your own boarding pass. It saves you waiting in at least one line when you arrive at the airport... all you have to do is go to baggage check-in and then head to the boarding gate.

When you head to the airport, be sure to double-check to see if you're carrying any "prohibited" items such as pocket knives, bottles of liquid, etc. that will be confiscated by the TSA knuckle draggers.

Check the web page of the airline you're flying for info on what you can and can't take aboard, along with luggage size and weight requirements, boarding procedures, etc.

One trick I've used before: If I know someone at the destination, I'll pack a box with clothes, toiletries and anything else I might need on the other end (including pocket knives, etc!) and mail it out a few days in advance. Priority mail doesn't cost too much. Then I pre-print my boarding pass and head straight to the boarding gate at the airport after I clear security. I'll take a small "carry-on" that usually holds nothing more than an emergency change of clothes and a couple of candy bars for emergency rations.

I've found that minimizes my contact with the TSA. I immensely dislike being groped and manhandled by the security goons. I'm sure you've already seen this youtube vid:

YouTube - TSA Gangstaz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7AWw7t5zj0)

And then, of course, there's my own ill-fated encounter with the TSA. They got physical with me, I fought back, and the next thing I knew they were chasing me!! I put up a pretty good fight, but it was about 20 to 1. I was eventually captured and hauled away for government re-education... but not before I got the last word!! I later found out the whole thing was caught on the airport security cameras:

YouTube - Take your stinking... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRG6ahCs_t0)

(Okay, I know I've posted that one before, but it's just that I love tweaking the TSA!)

Anyway, Krippy, good luck with your flight and I hope you have a great time at the YAL conference!!

It sure has... look at the funds that have been allocated and increased over the past 9 years. SWAT, Weaponry, Aircraft, IT systems, covert/under cover operations, checkpoints, supplemental/secondary funding, Pay/Pensions/LE Unions.

Anything with that Racist Zionist POS Weasel Rahm Emanuel pushes, is going against the civil liberties of the common American and our US Constitution. The decades we spent defending against and sacrificed to fight, the very ideology that is now consuming our Freedoms, Liberties, and Country.

Blame the zombies, Ignorance, Propaganda, and the fools with their one or 2 goofball ideologies they want, at any expense of even giving up all their constitutional rights.

American Fools with the people support this... I'm sure those 2 female US Senatorial republicrats from Maine will bend over for this bill giving them 60 votes.

This is a wakup up call and we don't have Charlton Heston to rally the troops.

The Imperial Empire in Washington DC is pushing this to protect themselves and their Masters of the Universe... BANKSTERS.

PS: Let's not forget, this is Senator Frank Lautenberg's big FU to the people before the Old Crypt Keeper hits his gold/granite encrusted mausoleum.

No it's not. One mistake they made was by rushing the last stuff too fast. People are waking up. Now, it will all be for naught, if we don't activate quickly and get the right information out to them. Else, they will accept what they are being spoonfed by the MSM.

Add to this the right to face ones accusers and you have the department of family and children services. These are always done under the guise of protection and fear...

I agree AF option 3 is our only hope. This tyrannical state of existence is based upon the premise of too big to fail and the theory of “never let a serious crisis go to waste."

" But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. "

I feel like they are fanning the flames of revolution so they can flex their muscles and feed their tiny little egos with just how much power they have. It doesn't seem to be rational anymore the lengths to which a naive public is allowing freedom to be lost for security, and one has to wonder what motivates power grabs such as these if not for the theory of become a tyrannical rule by those drunk on their own power.
