The danger of a judge-only trial for criminal cases (really ALL cases) is considerably greater than the danger of jury tampering. Even with "tampered" juries, the odds are greater for a fairer trial than one with a "tampered" judge.

A judge trial is technically a conflict of interest, as the judge works directly for the state and is not my peer.
