This video happened to pop up when surfing around YT

YouTube - Procession for Staff Sgt. John Beale through McDonough Square (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsxAIUm888Y)

I was fascinated that such a great procession had taken place considering how unusual it is.

From my limited searching his death does not seem to be anything abnormal for his duties, killed via IED in Afghanistan with a few others.

The main thought I took from this tho is, I wonder how long Americans would tolerate our overseas occupations if this type of procession took place for EVERY PERSON that has died or been wounded. :(

I don't know.... then again maybe the majority would just think that they had died "legitimately defending Amerika from all them terrests"

My tiny farming community has already had two of these processions and with our continual exapnsion around the globe I can only assume there will be more. Sad!

They had the same thing happen here in Monterey County today. The bike riders are a national group that attend every soldiers funeral.

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.

Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers' Green.

Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he's emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers' Green.

And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to Fiddlers' Green.
